I like most of the stuff, but it's still rough around the edges. The forums seems to have been downgraded pretty heavily.

  • "Hot topics" is gone, and Recent Threads is NO REPLACEMENT. I hope it's temporary, and the hot topics functionality returns. I know that the functionality is up on the hub site, but that only covers four threads! FOUR!
  • We are way too limited in forum navigation now, I use the URL to get to the end or beginning of a thread, which is not how it's supposed to be. It's also very limiting that the recent threads only cover every section at once, and can't be applied to individual sections.
  • EDIT: It seems weird that I have to reply to a post now, does it change anything compared to the old Quick Post? Like creating a small subdiscussion to the post you replied to? I haven't found out yet.
But other than that, I'm pretty happy so far.

The old website was a bit cluttered, but this one just doesn't make sense with the "hub" thingie. It doesn't feel like VGChartz anymore.

I don't remember any other websites turning into hubs. VGChartz had a very clear identity as a sales charts site with a community interested in sales and gaming, now you're fracturing the experience and reducing the importance of the sales charts, which were the main feature of VGChartz.

Also, the "hot topics" page is sorely needed.

Well my entire entry was replaced by the number "1" that was epic

Let's try this again.

1. The bright light is just as bad as the pitch black of the 2.0 version. can't we have a calm color?

2.  I miss the quick reply box- i can't scroll up and read other posts while typing a reply.

3.  The forums are a nightmare to navigate

4.  I don't know when somebody has quoted me

5.  The last site had a bunch of clutter but it was convenient to see everything at once. This is the complete opposite. 4 different websites pretty much? It's like what?

6.  I miss my recent forum posts lists.

I like how the user page portion divides the games into categories. that's a nice feature. I do dislike that the page number at the bottom is gone. It took me forever to find out that i have to go to the top and click the arrow to read more comments

No, I think all it would do is turn the topic red on the My Recent Threads of the one replied to ... except oops we don't have that anymore.

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.

I have the most epic death scene ever in VGChartz Mafia.  Thanks WordsofWisdom!

Hate the colour hate the desgin and most of all hate that everything is scattered over 4 different sites.

A case of redesign for redesign sake and certainly not for the better.

From a web developers perspective all seems good, although there are some issues a fair bit about here and there. PHP database errors aside I mean.

First, a navigate to page links at the bottom of a thread, when I get to the bottom and have to go back to the top, seems a waste of time.

The green forum links could be slightly darker, it clashes with the cream of the background. Non-link fonts and colours are good though, best reading colours are black text on white so that is good.

main vgChartz page is very grey. Get some colour in there.

Feed and review are very good, nicely laid out.

Other then that my main issue would be with the landing page, I liked the previous landing page because it had everything, even if it was a mess you didn't have to lick to find it. The new landing page has some of this feature but it's very big and doesn't have much on each 'segment', more news stories, maybe weekly consoles chart as well as top 5 games for Chartz, more recent forum posts would be good. Reviews is fine though.

...how's that.

Hmm, pie.

A problem I just noticed - if you press reply, there's no way to cancel, so you will post an empty post when you press Done.
