a backup to external drive(via xmb, not a simple copy) or direct ps3 to ps3 would enble him to get his copy protected saves back again;)

I fixed my 60GB PS3 4 days ago with a very crazy idea (see video below). Of course I added a better layer of thermal paste (great brand). And I took an extra step by making my fan run at full speed all the time. So far after 4 days, it's going strong and touching the spots that are usually hot as hell...not even a bit of warmth.

Hope you get it turned on for your data and sorry to hear that this happened to you too.

^^ how did you put your fan at full speed all the time? my PS3 broke in feb and sony send me a new one but i toke my old one apart before i send it to sony... would like to know how could i do that because my new one its hot like the first...
