Forums - Sales - 2010 Year on Year Sales and Market Share Update to May 22nd

GO PS3!

And looking at the marketshare things I don't see Wii getting 50% ever.

Glad 360 is beating 2005,2006,2007 & 2008, come E3 or Septmber it should be up over 2010 too.

you mean 2009 right?

and I agree....

2010 will be the best year of 360 so far despite what many here, including the site number crunchers, say.

Yeah yeah, I meant 2009!

From end of may 2009 to September 2009, sales hovered in the 100k - 120k region. So however hard they fall this year, the stuff they have in store for this xmas will recoup that and build upon last xmas.

Can't wait!

Unless theres a 360 slim and price drop......don't count on it. Natal won't be doing as much damage as you thiink if the price rumors are true

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

with PS3 and 360 hardware sales likely to go up in the FALL thanks to NATAL/MOVE/3D and potentially price cuts, I don't expect the wii to reach 50% market share

PS3 sitting at 35-40% up YoY vs 2009 going through to September isn't going to get PS3 to 15 million come March 2011. Sony must have pricing plans afoot, or their prediciton is going to fall short by at least 1 million units.

Ironic that 2010 could be 360's peak year, yet it's possible at the same time that this year will be the year it loses the most ground to PS3 in terms of LTD market share. (Caveat on what Natal, Move and pricing strategies do, which could change things a lot.)

I don't see why you'd count the Wii out for 50% after a few slow weeks like this. There's still a lot of room this gen for things to change (the holiday periods in particular).

Waiting on E3 before I make any judgement...

x360 already peaked in 2008, 11m sales in 2008 compared to 10m sales in 2009
