I don't trade in the huge majority. Not always because I wouldn't have considered it, but they are mostly NTSC, be it the US or Japan - started boycotting PAL last gen (when barely anything that interested me came out). I've been buying some region-free games here if I find a good deal (PS3, NDS, PSP), and I've traded in some of them but it's not really the norm.

Usually I watch what I buy anyway, I don't trade stuff that I've finished playing, just stuff I didn't like.

i used to trade in alot, but i try not to anymore (unless the game is crap). I did recently trade in like 30 genesis games and a few controllers after the system broke. i never played it so i thought "why not?"...im starting to regret that.

i also got rid of all my PS2 games along time ago after my system broke. i regreted that and am trying to rebuild my old collection.

"Trade?" What is this "trade" you speak of? I think just looking at my collection would speak for itself. And speaking of which, I need to go add Hexyz Force to it...

I only trade in games for three reasons: 1) outdated sports game (Madden 09) 2)I have multiple versions (Dante's Inferno PSP) 3) It's an embarrassing POS (DOA Pardise).

I don't like trading games I feel it's a waste of money and it is better to collect.

Trading in games is always a losing endeavor. So unless you're just cleaning house/having a garage sale it's rarely worth it to get into the whole buy new then trade in for the next new game GameStop cycle.

Plus almost all games have a very limited "freshness" date, meaning there's usually a small window when your used game is actually worth even half of what you paid for it (assuming bought new upon release). So unless you're one of those guys who always rushes to finish a game as soon as possible, again, it makes little sense to do trade ins. Speed run guys should probably stick to Game Fly.

I'm terrible though. I even hang onto the games I barely played due to just being dull and not worth my time. Mainly because they're not worth anything anyway.

I actually regret getting rid of many of the games I unloaded in the past because like any old movie you enjoyed, sometimes you just want to go back and revisit it, even if it's just for a few choice scenes.

Actually, my collector's status is enhanced by the fact that I bought the ME Special Edition, having already bought and finished ME 1

I think it's a winning endeavor. I buy a bunch of games and trade them in for store credit toward for new games. Of course your not going to trade them in for what you payed for it. They have to make a profit off those used games. That's just how it works. It's basically the pawn shop way of doing things.I'm not a collector of games.

I'm mainly a collector. To my knowledge, I don't think I ever sold or traded in a game. But recently after looking at my vast game collection spanning 20+ years of gaming and seeing the vast majority of these games on the shelves, in boxes or lying around collecting dust, I feel that it is a waste. I have been thinking of starting up a ebay seller account and starting to sell some of my stuff. I own NES games, old-school MS-DOS and Windows games from the 80s and 90s, "modern" era PC games from the '00s, Sega Genesis games, PS1 games, DS games, Xbox 360 games, Wii games, etc.

Though I plan to keep games with high value or rarity. Or potential high value/rarity. For eg. I'm keeping my badly banged up copy of FF7 (I'm not sure if I can fetch much for it anyway though. My jewel case is cracked, my discs are scratched up and have fingerprints. I still have the manual though so that adds some value I guess. I bought FF7 used like 11 years ago (this is why I rarely if ever buy used anymore) and I let an irresponsible friend borrow it (and I don't do that anymore too unless it's a game that doesn't have much future value) so that's why it's in such bad condition. But the discs still run 100% despite being in bad condition.) As well as all the jrpgs I bought this gen on the Xbox 360 just in case they turn out to be valuable. And I'm gonna keep my two import Cave shmups since I'm sure somewhere down the line they are going to be worth a shitload to all the Japanophiles out there.

For some odd reason I've always traded in all of my handheld games at the end of the generation/when I buy the new handheld. I have all of my console games dating back to the Genesis... but there's not a GameBoy/GameBoy Advance game in sight.

Although, I have traded in some Wii/GC games that I've beaten and never felt I would play again. Still, the vast majority of my collection remains.

Also maybe this is just me but sometimes when you revisit an old game, movie, tv show, you don't always remember the story 100%. Our memory isn't that strong. So when you revisit it, it's almost as if you are experiencing something new. I bet if I re-watched The Simpsons starting from season 1, I bet I would laugh at a lot of jokes. Because you don't remember everything, a witty comment can catch you off guard and turn into a lulz moment.

I bet if someone asked me to give a synonypsis of FF7's plot, I probably would do a very shitty job of doing so. Because I haven't played FF7 in like 10 years and forgot huge chunks of the game's story.
