Ugh, what's happening with Blizzard is kinda depressing. I don't wanna hear it.

One of my friends found a way to counter mass Ravens. Send in two gigantic waves so they don't have time regenerate their energy. This requires two players working in tandem, however.
@Tanstalas
Currently it is not fully known. I can confirm they have some form of off-line mode. What they plan on doing with it isn't known though. Single player, and off-line mode are disabled for beta. The button is there though.
The biggest fuckup about Battle.NET 2.0 is that they're seperating accounts into regions, which means that if you have a european account you won't be able to play with north-americans, and vice-versa.
And the worst part is that, Let's say you have an european account with games attached to it. If you create a US account, all the games you have in the european account will not reappear in your US account.
HUGE screwup they're doing! Especially considering that accounts on Steam are global, and works worldwide. FUCK YOU Activision!
Why is it a huge screw-up exactly? What is so critical about it? The game is not going to play that different. Yeah it sucks you can't play with friends from another region, but how in the hell is that a deal breaker? The lag for ladder matches would be annoying, and pointless really. I like global match-making too, but I fail to see how it can possibly ruin a game.
The multiplayer is totally unbalanced. Especially protoss with the high cost to everything and how slow all the units are. Not to mention protoss air minus carriers is laughable. Did anybody notice since the last patch that it says your time expires on such and such date. Bnet 2.0 to be charged? I heard they are only going to be charging certain countries, but not the U.S anybody hear anything along those lines?
So you only have to log on once?
That's not too bad.
Alone in the Dark made you do that too...Not that it was good or anything

Are you kidding me? Void Rays are amazing. They are probably better than Carriers quite honestly. They require a bit of attention for a small number of them. For large numbers they just become obscene, and incredibly hard to counter since they can get a full charge going rather easily. The game is pretty well balanced at this point plus or minus a few rough spots. That typically has to do with individual units rather than an actual match-up though.

Yea, I heard that Russia (I think) was getting cheaper version of the game as an option but they would have to pay regular fees for online usage...read it somewhere a while ago, not sure where

Soon the Darkside will be irresistable and will crush the MS rebel scum underfoot.
The Wii owners are like Ewoks. The Evil empire will tolerate them but turn their forest moon into a secret base.

Raven barely above useless? That is the funniest thing I have read today. The unit is ridiculously good. Point defense drone alone makes it bad ass. Hunter Seeker Missile is pretty cool too, and it is the only mobile detector Terrans get. Hell PDD or the detector aspect alone are a great reason to get the unit. Both in one is obscene. You clearly have no idea how to use the unit. Also, there is an off-line mode. My guess is it is single player only, but it is specifically disabled for the beta. So your basic thesis is completely and totally off-base. My guess is you will need to verify it once, and then connect online to play with other people. |
The Raven is utterly useless compared to the Science Vessel. Even the ghost's EMP is utterly shitty compared to the vessel's EMP. Oh yeah, the vessel was also a detector. As a science vessel replacement, the Raven is utter trash. High Templar are utter trash compared to their SC1 coutner parts, and the infestors are utter trasah compared to defilers. Really, the entire game has been dumbed down to hell.
Just to drive my point home. Do you know what would happen to that so easily abusable and shitty MMM ball if irradiate was still around? I know that it would get decimated in about 4 seconds, maybe 5 at best. By oh no, we can't have a high skill requirement for this game, all the chobs have to be able to play as well. Same goes for Plague and the old Psi Storm that didn't suck. Oh yeah, I guess the bug cloud of the defiler would have the same effect on those kinds of strategies.

I heard about this. What a stupid idea by Activision-Blizzard. Don't they have international online tournaments for "Pro" Starcraft gamers? How are you supposed to have those with region-locks? Starcraft with no Koreans? You gotta be kidding me.
