Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Project Natal Hands-On!

As soon oas I see anything Natal I immediately think hypocracy because it's microsoft after slagging nintendo off for years. Oh well copybotting Microsoft are at it again just this time they cant buy out Nintendo or Sony so it's fun seeing them swim a lake of better competition they cant do crap about

Great i can't wait for E3 and what critics will be saying.

As soon as I read a response like yours I immediatly think ''how sad'' because where you'd normally talk down Natal for being inaccurate and worthless, with such an article you have to resort to talking down the company behind it.

Be honest, if Natal actually does what the article says it does then its really impressive. Yes, Microsoft talked down Nintendo but Nintendo does the exact same thing to Microsoft and Sony. That is how you play the game, Microsoft will never admit it but you can take Natal as a sign that they admit they were wrong and Nintendo was right.

i suppose this had big whit backgrounds behind it so it could clearly distinguise the person. This is going to be an epic fail when it goes public it's going to be lauaghable. The reviewer just give it 3 and a half stars at the end, hardly revolutionary i'd say

didn't go into spec but if it's an IR camera the BG is irrelevant unless you painted human shaped forms in a paint with the same wave length as a human body. I honnestly think the probability of that is close to 0

Preview | Project Natal Hands-On

After an explosive session with the device, I left as though I was walking on a cloud. I realised I needed to play some boring old pad controlled game for review when I got home, but I couldn’t bring myself to play the games. When you spend a short amount of time with Natal, going back to controlling your player with an analogue stick just doesn’t do it anymore. It’s like being sent back to the Stone Age.

This is where it obvious he went overboard. No matter how good Natal works I still want to play 99.9% of games with a controller, drive with a steering wheel in racing sims and uses a  stick in flight sims.

Agree 100%.  No one who is in their right mind is going to get that kind of feeling from just playing a demo of Richochet.  And if this were a real unbiased article, he wouldn't have blown out of proportion like that.  He would have said something like, "Natal is pretty cool and I can't wait to see what possibilities lay ahead."  I mean the way he describes it, you would think he had just gotten laid for the first time.  By 2 girls.  Without prematurely...Yea, you get the picture.  And besides, no matter how accurate he claims Natal is, there is no way it can be used in place of an analog stick, and create the same ability to move easily and accurately about a 3-D world.  Nintendo knows this, and so does Sony.

and about paid article.... last time I checked they are required by law to say it.... and no we are not in the third world with corporate conspiracies everywhere.... it would cost them less money and wave better results to actually pay the article and say it.... than take the risk of being prosecuted for it... now there are other means to get the press in your pocket I'm not denying that...

and about motion being the idea of nintendo for Wii... then again MS came out with a sidewinder pad with motion control for motocross madness years ago.... or even Sony with the eye toy.... so give it a break if it's working why shouldn't they develop something similar for their console????

anyway from what I have read and understood about the mechanics of natal (wave???) it has indeed the potential to be way more accurate than Wiimote (don't know about sony's tech though) it doesn't mean it will... it means the principle should make it possible....

as always lets wait and see ;)

if this is confirmed at E3, it will be the beginning of a revolution.

highlighted: agreed. :)

All I got to say is that nothing is perfect and ppl talked about the imperfections of the wiimote and PSmove but nobody and i mean NOBODY talks about any imperfections about natal and they ALWAYS play that tired ass Ricochet, the game that the balls hit 'you' and you win. That game do not show off anything about the tech.
