Really?
Gameplay opinions aside, the atmosphere in Killzone 2 was incredible. Why would they screw with that?

You sir, need to calm down.
Bad Company 2 is a VERY serious game, compared to the First one.
GG knows that IW and Treyarch did something right with MW and WaW, they want to adopt that success, please dont even say KZ2 is better than ANY CoD game, cause its not. Bad Company 2 = best FPS on console, the only one that MIGHT dethron it, is Halo REACH.
And screw dark and gritty look, You dont think Crysis is considered one of the best looking games because the dark and gritty look? No its bright and colorful. |
He wont, I will. Killzone 1 is better then COD.

i know, its such a small and pointless minority cause really when the game releases they will be the first ones in line. complaining is not an art but changing visual design for the better is |
yea. they act like becuase the visuals change, the game play will be worse.

That senetence is correct. Go play on PC if you want to be a hardcore fps gamer. |
I love battlefield 2, and 2142, TF2, and counter strike, however, none of those games provide a killzone 2 experience, and I like all those games equally. that PC elitist bullshit is bullshit, consoles (ps3) can to provide hardcore fps experiences akin to the ps3, see MAG one of the most tactical shooters ever, also warhawk and killzone 2 in it's early days, hopefully i can add socom 4 to that list.

They haven't. He's blowing out of proportion a line of questioning that discusses taking narrative cues from Uncharted 2. The atmosphere is just as bleak as ever (though they have included a variety of new locales, according to various interviews):

(i hate doing this) but no. if you are a hardcore gamer. play an FPS that you'll never want to play again because of how hard it is, but you keep coming back for more. for surtant people that could be any game.
as a PC and Console FPS gamer, i'd haft to say FPS on both are equal even though i've played more PC FPS then Consoles
From Joystiq
"This new gameplay feature was only working with the stock ISA carbine rifle, which had at least five different melee attacks associated with it -- most being contextual, based on an enemy's proximity to objects in the environment. In one case, I smashed a Helgast in the face with my rifle, knocking off his helmet, and then hit the melee button again to kick him, spinning him 180 degrees onto a control panel. Approaching where he lay and pressing melee once more, I grabbed his head, smashed it into the panel, and then stuck my knife in his back. "Brutal?" Check."
Don't worry dude :D It will be still retain it's core nature, and actually go beyond..with less cussing (which btw imo does not make or break a game)

The idea is that, not even going from level to level, but within individual levels, we'll be switching it up a lot more. I wouldn't say we'll be introducing a lot of colour because that's never been what Killzone is about, we've got this very distinct look, but we do want to get a lot more variety in the environments - so, different colour schemes, different things going on, throughout the game. Right at the beginning of the game, if you remember how Killzone 2 finished, on the steps of the Palace with the cruiser coming in, that's exactly where this game begins. It's completely seamless and continues on - so it starts in that nuked urban environment, the environments you played in Killzone 2, but since the bomb went off everything's changed. Then you're taken off on a journey, across the entire planet, basically.
