I was going to pre-order Sin & Punishment: Star Successor when I picked up Super Mario Galaxy 2 on Wednesday, but, I still undecided on this game.

I ordered this from the UK last night. I can't be bothered to wait for Nintendo of Australia to decide whether or not to release this. Also screw waiting for a month for MG2. Now that I think about it I don't think Nintendo of Australia has gotten any of my money this year, besides for downloadable titles..... and I might just keep it that way.
I'm looking forward to playing this.

I think so, maybe a bit more, but that's if you don't die a lot of course. Trying to actually beat the game on the harder levels could take much, much longer since it could get really hard (it's a Treasure game after all).

Three to four hours on easy, after that it's between two and two and a half hours for a playthrough, skipping the cutscenes speeds things up. Now that I know that there is a real ending I probably shouldn't have skipped all the cutscenes in the new game mode. Not that it really matters though, because the story is not important. |
Would you recommend it to someone that is obsessed with Monster Hunter Tri, owns Super Mario Galaxy 2, and will definitely pick up Metroid: Other M? Is it worth my time? I know that it's good, but is it THAT good?

absolutely. It crushes every single game of the same genre made before. obviusly if you don't like the first S&P, Starfox 64, and similar games, i don't know if S&P2 can change your mind, but if you like the genre buy it. it's a milestone.

I spent 1h 27 on it, and never picked it up again..... that includes 15 minutes spent on the tutorial bit as I had never played a game like it before. And the first level boss took 3 tries because I didn't realise there was a sword which dealt a lot more damage than the gun. I bet it can be completed in under 30 minutes.
Hearing this one is a good 6h+ first go is encouraging though, add to that my main concern about the first (apart from shortness) was that the graphics for the N64 are too simple to tell what's going on with so much happening.
If I see this cheap I might pick it up. (oh yeah, and what DarkCronos said... I happen to be one of those who didn't like the original, nor Lylat Wars, so it's probably a good thing that I am at least considering this)
