Did the WSR bundle release for the Wii?? i mean i thought it should've been out there 2 weeks ago.

PS3 needs a game bundle at 299 to help them catch 360 in the US

PS3 needs to make some money this gen and they will never 'catch' the 360 in the US. I agree bundles are a better idea than another price cut. Promote some of those amazing exclusives and stay in the black for a change.

Rumours of Wake's demise seem somewhat exaggerated. 360 is more than a 'shooterbox'. Quality RPGs sell very well. Well well. Thank you R*. RDR replaces Darksiders as my Sleeper OTY.

Wow @ RDR. If the game didn't cost an insane amount of money, its a major win for R*

Decent for Alan Wake. When was the last time a real survival horror had a great opening in the US? Hope it has killer legs, it deserves it.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

1. RDR has great sales, but there there was a rumor earilier in the year that said it needs to sell 5 million copies to be profitable. If that is true, they still have a long way to go to make a profit.

2. Lost Planet 2 took a huge nosdive-- 360 sales only 29,000, PS3 even less. Capcom is going to take a big hit on this one, since it was supposed to be their heavy hitter.

3. Prince of Persia did terrible so far. The Wii version wasn't even in the top 50. However, I wouldn't be surprised if the Wii version makes a comeback and sells the best like Wii Avatar did.

4. Trauma Team for the Wii debuts at 12K. Ouch. Lets hope this game has legs, it is a good series

5. Split/Second has slow opening numbers.

6. MH3 sales fall below 10K.

Most anticipated games of 2011:

Uncharted 3,Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Rocksmith

Modern Warfare 3, Super Mario 3D

Pachter guesstimated around 1.75m copies in the first. The cvg I included mostly for the yuks.

Barozi pointed out below that first $80m (1.75u) was just to run the studio and they need another $120m? (4m units) total to make any profit?  Yikes!  I don't understand exactly.  Is that executive salaries?  The Dental Plan?  Love to see that broken down.

Two VGC threads mentioned a complaint letter from spouses of R* SD and the 5m seems to be from an anonymous caller / disgruntled employee? Alternately it could be company spin to counter the neg. press and hold back bonuses. I hope it's a gross exaggeration as few arpgs especially new IPs ever do those nos.

Stuff on the working conditions and (mis)management was eye opening. I called them an excellent dev. team on another thread before learning all this. From the end product their employees deserve a break and a raise.

Gojimaster: Thank you for the heads up.

Costs are probably around the same as GTA IV.

@Recon

Read the joystiq source again. RDR needs 4 million at full price to break even. With marketing however I guess 5 million is more than likely.

But I expect RDR to sell at least 6m, so Rockstar could get a tiny profit.

WW RDR had a 1.4 Million Opening for PS360 !

OT : Good numbers.

Who's the best Pac, Nas, and Big. Just leave it to that.
