I'm trying out contacts for the first time. They feel pretty comfortable, though they do tend to irritate after several hours of use. My main beef is that my vision isn't as sharp as it is with glasses, largely thanks to a slight astigmatism in one of my eyes. It's good enough for out in the world, but it's a total pain if I want to focus on text.

I love being able to wipe moisture off my corrective lenses with my eyelids though. Glasses are lousy in bad weather.

So my answer is both.

Maybe your doctor didn't deem it irritating enough, but IMO if you're not happy with your vision like that, you should talk to him/her.

I have astigmatism as well and that's not a necessary thing to endure with contacts (and I'm pretty sure it's been there for years, for both rigid and soft contacts).

This is what I have.

Yeah, I've got a toric lens in that eye, and we tried a couple different powers, but they both seem to be a little off. Like I said, it's good enough for most things, I just find glasses more comfortable if I'm doing a lot of reading farther than 18 inches from my face.

I wear glasses (not all the time) and I don't like them. I'd prefer contacts.

Contacts for me

They can be slightly annoying, but glasses piss me off. The lack of peripheral vision bugs me, especially as I wear contacts for most of the time. I do wear glasses at home to rest my eyes a bit, but contacts for pretty much everything when I actually need to do something

glasses, they make me look smarter and geekier, which I like, plus ive had them since I was 13 so im used to them now, wouldnt feel right not wearing them. I never want contacts, hate putting stuff in my eyes.

Contacts.

Glasses are annoying and ugly lol

Plus contacts are really useful when you're in the water.

I don't wear either. Just the thought of putting something in my eyes freaks me out.....couldn't be doing with that.

Glasses. Anything off in the distance is just a blur to me, but I am also not required to look off into the distance enough to justify wearing and maintaining contacts all day.

I rarely use my glasses, I'm surprised if I wear them once a week. The time and effort involved with contact lenses just seems like more hassle than it's worth for the relatively short time that I would require them.

I've pretty much worn glasses all my life. Looking back at the days when we could only afford NHS specs, I'd definitely say contacts, but if you can afford a really nice, fashionable pair of glasses, then I think they make a great compliment to your general appearance.

I wore contacts for a few years in high school and college, but eventually I switched back to glasses. I just couldn't deal with all the extra maintenance stuff contacts add. Besides, I found a style of glasses that looks good on me.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

I HATE glasses so much. I mean, hate hate.

I guess i lucked out. The contacts i have are like they aren't even there. I can sleep in them fine and they never bother me.
