Unlikely. The self-described "hardcore" (funnily enough, they rarely live up to this elitist label) jumped on the HD bandwagon and swore off motion controls as "ZOMG, gimmick" long ago. Less fanboyish gamers who simply have a preference for high-end graphics and PS360 style games bought those consoles instead in the first place, or soon afterwards. One the other side of the coin, the expanded audience doesn't care about HD graphics and already associates the name "Wii" with the accessible gaming they so love.
Basically, most people have already made their choice. Move is simply too late to change the course of the console war. |
As a multiconsole owner, I seriously cannot find how people get so elitist over the fact that the PS3/360 have better graphics than the Wii, and the console is useless without it.
I mean, I personally am impressed with the graphics of Metroid Prime 1, and that came out 8 years ago. With that in mind, I know what type of graphics the Wii could be capable of. Often times, art style chews up technical achievements. Case in point, The Conduit. The art style in that one was bland, but technically it was strong. The sequel should remedy most of those problems along with online issues.
Games like Mario Galaxy 2 rival 360 games in terms of appearance (that Galaxy 2 dragon is unbelievably good looking in the trailers). No More Heroes 2 cel-shading is just solid. At the end of the day, I only need things that look good enough. It is the reason why I spent almost 100 hours on Rune Factory Frontier.
Bump Mapping has fooled millions of people this gen.......
