Forums - Gaming - To Wii owners: Why haven't you bought an HD console yet?

I honestly can't even find the time to play all my Wii games as much as I'd like, nor the money to buy all I'd like, nd that's not even taking into consideration my DS games, so I wouldn't even consider buying either of the HD consoles. Plus, the majority of games on them just don't appeal to me.

I own a PC that I get all those games the Wii misses out on that I want and visa versa.

Until Mario, Metriod, Zelda and Starfox comes out on a HD console I wont be getting one

Well I do have a HD console but it's mosly collecting dust. There's just too many good Wii games coming out to warent the purchase of any Ps360 games. When the wii had its dry spell I bought my 360 for halo but its moslty used for its dvd player. When two games come for both system at the same time i usually get the wii game and the hd game used some time down the road. ex Red dead redemption and SMG2. Will get SMG2 at launch and RDR whenever its less than $20. Have yet to get FF13 as Fragile and Red steel 2 came out same time frame.

I dont have the money to buy an hdtv. the ps3 just hasnt shown me enough to be worth the purchase of both.

I've owned both at some point this generation, but ended up selling them after playing the games that convinced me to initially buy the system, so I would have more money for Wii games. I just prefer the games on the Wii overall and it has enough that I don't feel like I need another console. Near the end of the generation/early next gen, I will probably rebuy a PS3 when I can get it for ~$100 and the games are cheap. If Natal ends up being really interesting that may cause some more interest in the 360 for me.

with all the good games that come out on wii (not only the big ones like mario or mh3, i buy a lot of niche titles, you know, from the start of the year i already bought 17 games), i don't have the time to play more games.

No interest in them or rather the games available. All the hyped games don't seem to catch me, and leave me scratching my head as to what makes these games good. UC felt wonky in the control department and Gears of War got repetitive quick. But they sure looked purdy.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

Why should I? What do they offer me? Innovative games? I get that on Wii. Graphics? I get that on my PC at full HD, something the HD consoles will never provide. Why get a half measure of both when I can get the best of both. When they finally drag their asses around to doing motion controls I still won't be getting one because I don't trust anything they have to pay you to buy given their massive losses, Sony especially.

I already owned an HD console before the wii came out.

I have a 360 now, but I almost never use it. I much prefer the Wii for the controls (not fond of dual analog) and the games. I play to unwind and am very often doing more than one thing simultaneously. With Wii there's lots of games you can play one handed (esp adventure). Also lots of games to play in quick bursts. Often I won't get back to a game for months, and I won't have time to refigure out controls so if it's not pick-up and play it's useless to me.
And then there's the party aspects, there's simply more on Wii I can play with friends, especially girlfriends. Plus fitness. And faaaarrrr too many games on Wii I want, and already own, than I even have time to play.

I had hoped to play Mass Effect and Dragon's Age on 360 but I simply haven't the time for those. Nothing else on the system interests me.
