It's also an option for people like you. Ioi uses ads to cover the costs. If you use stuff like FF + adblock etc. you don't contribute at all.

Nothing so far. Everyone knows ads here are pretty annoying but site needs advertisers. Nothing offensive but your respond implied you are some smartass who downloaded few add ons for FF and try to play the wise one. At least it looked like this for me.

i'd just be happy if the ads that have an audio component were removed.
A little while ago i used to come to this site and get spyware and such and i attributed it to the ads and got adblock to combat this, (not only for this site) but if this has been fixed i might whitelist this site if you think it truly is safe.
Edit: I would only pay for this site if the slowdowns were fixed, i have a 30 Mbit connection (Optimum boost in NJ) and this site usually a couple times a day has slowdown of sorts.

I disagree, I think IOI should find ad's which target his user's better. Sign up with a company that deals with PC parts, videogames, movie rentals etc. Drop the pop ups as nobody likes those and most likely people from here will be more interested in the ad's. Most of us have disabled the ad's on the site due to the destructive nature they had on us. I really don't agree with the pay to contribute idea. Basically it's us bringing in new people by creating the content in the forums. Why should we pay when we are a huge part of the site? Now if IOI offered something in exchange for money, ie: game related stuff like T-Shirts for sale on the site. I'd be way more inclined to purchase that kind of stuff.
Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.
