Forums - Sony - The PSP and America WTF

1.- Lack of flagship titles; PSP games like LBP, Motorstrom, Killzone, Dante's Inferno, etc. are considered "The lil' version of their console counterpart" PSP needs something like Monster Hunter in Japan or Pokemon for the DS

2.- That terrible idea of selling the PSP as a multimedia device instead of a full gaming handheld.

3.- Piracy, hacks, mods, etc.

4.- The price, specially that PSPGo thing.

Is just a very bad console compared to the great DS.

Price cut for sure its really pricey for an old system.

Cut the price to 150$, and make some marketing push. That and the couple of great games could assure decent or even good sales in the US, untill the PSP2 comes out But I bet that a pricecut is not far off now anyways ( my best is E3 ).

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

I also agree it's total hate, it's like 360 in japan, but in america there's no apparent reason for bad sales

it does have a lot of titles , its just there is no marketing to them AT ALL, even for people like me who likes it,  i find it hard to look for titles even with internet.

The thing's been $169 since 2007. It needs a price cut, much like any traditional console needs price cuts over time. It doesn't have the staying power of something like the DS, which has been able to sell incredibly well for years with no change to the status quo (not to mention the DS was much cheaper to begin with).

I honestly think they waited too long to do a price cut, however. They should've done one last year with all their big releases (LBP, GT, Dissidia, etc.). At this point the PSP is basically dead, and it'd be very hard to revive it no matter what they do.  Europe has a shot though.

I'm talking about flagship titles, games that're representatives for handhelds. Pokemon is the best example, that game can only be enjoyed with a Nintendo handheld system, Monster Hunter work great for japan but here in America we don't have those games. What PSP game can be considered as a flagship game here LocoRoco? Patapon?

Quite baiting the DS is great but this has nothing to do with the thread.

PSP doesn't need a price cut. Thing is, Nintendo owns the Americas. When people go out to buy a handheld, they buy a Nintendo handheld not a Sony handheld. Sony is not well known in the handheld area.
