The thing's been $169 since 2007. It needs a price cut, much like any traditional console needs price cuts over time. It doesn't have the staying power of something like the DS, which has been able to sell incredibly well for years with no change to the status quo (not to mention the DS was much cheaper to begin with).
I honestly think they waited too long to do a price cut, however. They should've done one last year with all their big releases (LBP, GT, Dissidia, etc.). At this point the PSP is basically dead, and it'd be very hard to revive it no matter what they do. Europe has a shot though.
