It's really unfortunate what happened to this game--it was originally going to be a series of downloadable episodes (where your decisions still carried over). Then all of a sudden their management changed and the new management wanted them to ship the entire game on a disc, on the day they were originally going to put up just the first episode.

In short, they were fully aware, and none too pleased, that the final third of the game sucked.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

This is news to me. And explains a lot. I loved the game, but towards the end it was really a case of "WTF?!"

Hell, not only was the final third crappy but also the mid section of the game. I died dozens of times on the horrible DDR button mashing bits and the completely throwaway stealth sections as well. They ruined what would have been a great game.

I played a little bit of the uncensored PC version (the one on Steam is censored for those who are looking into getting the PC version). I like it thus far. It's basically like those point-and-click adventure games but with Quick Time Events. If it's true that the game turns to shit when the story goes bad and the Quick Time Events start becoming real annoying, that would be unfortunate because the game starts off strong.

I loved Heavy Rain. I also hated Indigo Prophecy. It started out very well, but it deteriorated into a mess which made no sense and started to resemble Guitar Hero more than anything else. But without the music. Oh, and the whole "Happiness Meter" thing sucked, too.

First half is really good, the second half is terrible. Then again David Cage still isn't a good story writer so no real surprise

The first half was pretty good and then it fell apart after that.

Also, some parts of the game last WAY too long. I don't mind a little button pressing, but scenes like the basketball game, kick boxing, guitar playing and fight scenes took me out of the experience with the damn Simon Says mechanic.

Wow, I didn't know that happened during development. How unfortunate...
