I previously asked for your opinions as to what the Top 3 franchises were for the Big 3 Consoles. This time I want your opinion on the TOp 3 PC Series. This time there are separate rules you must follow before telling me.

1) The Series can be on Consoles the the Game itself must bet an Critically Acclaimed series on the PC. Example Half Life series.

2) The game must be a series that is well known. Meaning don't list any PC series that's really old and not many haven't heard of.

Right now I've got pinned down Half Life as one of the Top 3 and I'm thinking of Starcraft, Counter Strike, Warcraft, World of Warcraft, Sid Meier's Civilization as top contenders.

So what are the Top 3 PC Series?

Personally (within the criteria you have listed) I would go with Sid Meier's Civilization, perhaps Age of Empires. Flight Simulator perhaps?

Seriously, you haven't even mention Dawn of War...! best PC series out there.

I would say the following franchises are the biggest and most critically acclaimed franchises the PC has to offer:

Warcraft (includes Warcraft I, II, III, WoW, and all other expansions which I may have missed)

Half-Life (Half Life, Opposing Force, Blue Shift, Counterstrike, Team Fortress, Half Life 2, Counterstrike Source, Portal, and all other expansions which I may have missed)

The Elder Scrolls (Arena, Daggerfall, Battlespire, Morrowind, Oblivion, and all other expansion which I may have missed)

Civilization

Half-life

Warcraft (the strategy games, not the MMO)
