Forums - Sales - (Rumor) New Price drop comming this holiday (yes even Nintendo)

Since when was Sony making profit on each PS3 sold? Think i must of missed that info?

Personally in regards to the 360 i think what others have mentioned will come true. They have been mass producing 360's, getting enough stock ready and then will cut price by about £50/$100, maybe more. Then once we get towards Natal release date the new model will be announced.

Hmm...

I don't think we will see PS3 or Wii cuts. I think we will see new colours and bundles instead.

The 360, WILL be cut. By $50 i think. I don't think there will be a "Slim". But i do think they will bundle Natal with every 360 sold after it releases.

So you still don't believe there will be a redesign even after the leaked mobo photos, the Steve Balmer "new hardware" hints, and the addition of USB flash drive support which pretty much confirms the removal of the memory card slots that was evident in the leaked photos?

I guess we only have a month and 2 days till we find out for sure but I think the slim plus a huge price cut (which in the end will only be ~$50 once Natal is bundled, IMO) is guaranteed.

Leaked mobo photos? I missed them.

I missed quite a lot of what you said tbh

Links? Would like to read up on stuff.

Its seems very plausible that PS360 will cut prices to accommodate their new controllers. If that does happen then yes, Wii will also need to be dropped to keep the playing field level.

In the long run it won't change anything. Wii will still be selling more than the others and will dominate holiday sales again.

Exactly what I think too.

Wait nvm, read the post wrong , I think they will do a 299 ps3 bundle for Move, wii and box will also reduce prices, at least by 50

Surely you didn't miss the part about USB Flash Drive support?

If Nintendo announces a price drop at E3, it will be for the DS line.

I don't think the Wii would see any drop until the fall -- if at all.
And it certainly is not going to wipe out the momentum of the Black Wii and new bundle.

Thanks!

We've been through this before, i think. It was a publisher that told them. What the publisher is doing here is trying to spread hype for a price-drop, to help generate pressure for the companies to actively drop price

Nobody knows what is or isn't going to happen, but the publishers are trying to pressure the manufacturers in one direction as fast as they can.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I don't see Nintendo price dropping so soon after announcing their new bundle. They added a $50 game and kept the price the same. That is effectively a price cut already.
