Mario 64 was the best Mario game hands down, everyone who is "old" will obviously say SMB3 because it was in their time.

anyone who lists Super Mario Galaxy as number one really needs discover Mario's roots.

So you think if someone had extensively played all Mario Bros games from the beginning up until now, they couldn't possibly like Galaxy the most?

OT: I actually think that is a really good list.  I may not agree with all positions but I don't think any of the games were terribly out of place or that there were any glaring omissions.

1. Super Mario World - easily the best Mario game, I don't think it's close. Best power-ups, levels, and the introduction of Yoshi. IMO, a top 3 game of all time.
2. Super Mario Bros. 3 - Absolute classic.
3. Super Mario Galaxy - The best 3D Mario, by far. Hopefully SMG2 surpasses it.
4. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island - Criminally underrated, this game is phenomenal and has some of the best level design of the series. And Super Baby Mario.
5. Mario Kart 64 - Best Kart racer ever.
6. Super Mario 64 - Revolutionized 3D gaming.
7. New Super Mario Bros. - Great revival of the series on DS.
8. Super Mario Kart - Beginning of a great series.
9. Super Mario Bros. - Started it all. Thanks Mario.
10. New Super Mario Bros. Wii - Fantastic addition with 4 player multi that gave the game a new element.

Okay, my intention isn't to be mean, but please, never make a video where you speak again - You sound about as enthusiastic as a torture victim.

As for the list, I'm not done watching the video yet, so I'll comment on that later, as well as writing my own personal list.

If it's your favorite game, it's your favorite game.  Opinions are subjective, and I'm certainly not here to proselytize anyone into another way of thinking.

BUT, I would surmise that if you polled those who did list SMG as numero uno, they would in fact have the fondest memories from the "3-D Mario" era.

Emphatically, it's hard for me to believe there has been a dramatic shift in formula since Super Mario 64.
