I can't disagree with you more.  If MNR isn't to be compared to MK then why do you think it was even created? Sony is directly taking on MKwii so i think it is completely reasonable, even expected that people would compare these games.

What a great point.  EA also made a game to compete with Mario Kart Wii.  Not to mention Sega and many others.

Heck, maybe even MNR would appear to be the better game to someone that just fell to Earth from Mars.  However, that isn't the general population of Earth.  I've liked Mario and company for almost 25 years.  I grow up with Mario and love it.  I'll Mario over some generic create stuff anyday.  Besides, I have TrackMania (which is free) for creating tracks, when I want that.

MNR may be a good game.  Hopefully it continues to improve and if a sequel comes out, I may give it a try.

You know the create stuff is generic because? lol I know your kinda angry and all but as staff I think you should act a bit unbiase and try to 'stop' flame wars not add fuel to it, just a suggestion, think about it k? Your going nuts and insulting members just because they seem to prefer a game for what it has to offer over the one you like.

If your gonna argue a point do it the way it should be done. Point out why 'in your opinion' track mania is better in it's customizable options etc than MNR (given you have played MNR already, which is unlikely at this point and from your tone), drive mechanics good or bad? Is it fun or not? why? etc. Then that would be something that would actually add something to the discussion, not omg you don't like my game you martian you that kinda made me waste few minutes of my life, thank you

ps: Your not the general population of the world either ;)

yep.. anyone that says there 1st party sucks are just blind

Who in their right mind would say Sony's first party sucks? O_o

Seriously, it's usually Microsoft who usually gets that type of hatred, just because they don't own a boatload of developers.

LOL
you guys are so hoping for Wii fans to come an flame it's pathetic.

2 problems:
_ IGN in thread title (yeah kind of a divorce there)
_ Braging on review scores compared to MKWii (wii fans stoped looking at the first 70s reviews, bought the game and just had fun).

All I hope is that the gameplay is fun in MNR.
The editor looks great, but it's a racing game.... the replay value is not necessarily in the number of tracks. From my experience with non MK kart games, they are fun but it doesn't last more than any regular game. Still, Sony is making an effort and I'm sure it'll be a quality title well worth it's price and many hours of fun ahead for those who make the plunge.

Can I ask why you would wait for a sequel to this before purchasing it? Some of the tracks in this game are pure gold and the strategical depth is way beyond MKWii. And I'm not even talking about just the fun you'll have with this game (the thing one needs most in a game). Without a shadow of doubt, this game is already my most played game for the past two, three years (if not more).

Mod nation racers is what Mario kart should of been, and yet the sad thing is, that mod nation racers will never see the sales mario kart wii enjoys.

In anycase, I loved arts style, I love the drying, and really enjoyed the beta, so for me it's a definite must buy :)

Looks good. God knows I need another 4 player game other than LBP to utilize all these controllers.
