Forums - PC Discussion - Can I play games on this thing?

I've had this laptop for about a year now, and I never thought to play games on it - just thought I'd better post my specs up to see if it's suitable to play anything at all. If it's alright for playing some games, could you tell me the kind of games that this thing could manage?

BTW, I'm not much of a computer guy, so I don't know if all the things I'm posting are relevant or not xD I'm just typing what appears.

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T5800@ 2.00GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.0Ghz

Memory: 3068MB RAM

Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9200M GE

Hard Drive: I can't find it in the table - but hopefully you guys will be able to work it out without this information :P

This might be useful for you.

yea.. like.. Solitair and that's about it

well, sth. like World of Warcraft or Counter Strike should run pretty well with low details, but that graphics card really isn't fit for gaming - the other specs are fine

You should be able to play most newer games on minimum settings. And all games until 2005 should run decent.

Here some examples from rather actual games:

For example Mass Effect 1 minimum requirements:

Singlecore-CPU 2,4 GHz, 1024 MB RAM, 128 MB Graka, DirectX 9.0c, 6.5 GB

Mass Effect 2

Dualcore-CPU 1,8 GHz, 1024 MB RAM Windows XP or 2048 MB RAM Windows Vista/7 , Geforce 6800 or Radeon X1600 Graka 256 MB RAM, DirectX 9.0c, 15 GB

You should be able to play some games atleast on lowest settings.

Oblivion:

512 MB system RAM
2.0 GHz processor
128 MB video card
8x DVD-ROM drive
4.6 GB hard disk space

Here some older decent games which will run perfectly:

Diablo 2
WOW
Warcraft 3
Doom 3
Command and Conquer 4
Half Life 1
Half Life 2

I don't know how much difference it is beetween an nvidia 9200ge and an ati 3650 and beetween a core 2 duo T5800 2Ghz and a core 2 duo T8800 2.4Ghz, I also have 3Gb Ram... I can play most games at 1280x720 and high-level details without problems....I've tried...
-Gears Of War OK
-Viva Pinata OK
-Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 1&2 OK
-Mass Effect -works quite good
-Bioshock- works quite good
-Left 4 Dead- no problem
-Dead Space OK
-Resident Evil 5 OK
-Burnout Paradise- not very good
-Crysis- don't even think about it
You laptop is less powerful than mine but I think it shold run some of this games quite good, even with high or medium details settings

quite a few "old" ones, yeah (old meaning ~3 years old games) and they should even run good.
