Forums - Gaming - Before we would just disagree, but now we hate each other.

You know I agree with one thing you said and that is for some reason girls dont mind talking about the wii ... but then when your talking with the guys and they want to know what your talking about and you say GOW III they look at you like your some kind of freak :S

well this article is obviously very true.. im not sure how it used to go in the N64 area and beyond but I think this has so much to do with the younger kids starting on gaming and the internet becoming much more accesible..

Currently playing: MAG, Heavy Rain, Infamous

Getting Plat trophies for: Heavy Rain, Infamous, RE5,  Burnout and GOW collection once I get it.

I still don't see why would anyone be forced to pick a side in the console "wars" - in this day and age at least. If people actually start shunning you because of your choice of toys, they weren't worth of your time in the first place - anyone with a shred of maturity can see that.

Besides, this crap was far worse in the early nineties, at least over here.

Exaggerated, man. This happens everywhere. I don't talk much about gaming outside the internet, but at the same time, I never got shit from people for playing my Wii. In fact, sometimes on the weekend after say a game of co-op/versus on the PS3/360, we'd then play a game on the Wii (Wii Sports, Boom Blox, Wii Play, NSMB. Wii). Just having a great time together. That's what I like, simply playing games for fun.

Trust me, it is like Rubang said. Everyone is either Halo/Gears/COD with nothing else in between. I am literally one of 3 boys who own the Wii and actually y'know, play it. I have been told Nintendo doesn't make videogames anymore for Pete's sake. Also, once the Wii is mentioned, the guys wave their arms around like mad and say 'retard'. Plus, my student body has a rule not to buy Japanese games except for Pokemon.

At my local Gamestop, NO EMPLOYEE knows anything about the Wii library. I looked for Monster Hunter on the shelf, it wasn't there. Turns out it was in storage in the back of the store. I see customers walk in mentioning what genre they are looking to buy a Wii game from, and the guy behind the counter has a wave of disgust come over his face. Truly appaling. They almost died trying to get me to preorder that underwhelming Bioshock 2 though. Good thing I rented that.

Overall, games around here are fun when they are not on Wii. Wii games drop IQ numbers.

As for gaming dying, I didn't come up with that idea, my brother did. He does not look up gaming websites or any of that, but he knows what is going on. He attributes Nintendo with the growth although they "sold their souls to the devil to do it". Satoru Iwata acknowledged that gaming is shrinking, even though it is not exclusively because of the idea I presented in the OP.

pick a side!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Tough I agree to some extent, but IMO, you are taking this to seriously. It al depends on the crowd you hang out with. I either go out with gamers with whoom I can discuss about any console or game, or I go out with people whom know absolutly nothing about games... yes, the second one is mostly the girl crowd

I guess it depends on who you hang out with. Here in the Middle East, most people I know only play either FIFA/PES or Call of Duty. Yeah, there's also your usual MGS fans and what not, but they don't seem to care much for gaming period. But at the same, I don't get crap from people for playing the Wii, and the people who do make fun are just joking around.

But as for gaming dying, I do agree with what you're saying, and it's why I always said mainstream gaming is a curse.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

?? Really ?? I have never had any problems bringing up any system or game with anyone.Stop hanging out with such horribly judgmental people?

Just hang with pepole who aren't dumb, or, learn how to put into place the pepole who don't know anything.

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

I hear its not a good idea to argue with fools, because they eventually bring you down to their level, and then nobody wins.

Ignorance is bliss only in moderation. Otherwise, it is just very annoying.
