ROFLMAO

This is not happening, Activision will use Bungie's brandname as a cash cow by putting their game on as many systems as they can.....Activision won't let this opportunity go to waste.

I have only one thing to say to you OP..something you love saying to other people as we saw 1 week ago:

A little more time on this site will help you predict a lot better!

oh i didn't predict it.alot of difference between saying what Sony should do to improve their NA score and predicting Sony will do it.

And what are you  a protector of that other poster, did e bribe you and blackmail you or just a plea of please come fight for me Darth

so i would like to say it to you.

You would learn how to distinguish better after a little more time on this site

None of your post makes sense.

whats there to make sense?

just because you don't like it,it doesn't make sense to you?

I was just putting out a scenario in how Sony could help themselves in North America.

That's what makes Sony great; they make their own great games so they don't need exclusivity deals.

Couldn't be further from the truth (not denying that Sony makes good games)

The reason all of us old gamers know exactly how the PS3 vs 360 battle will play out is because we've seen it before. The PS1 destroyed the N64 despite Nintendo having a vastly superior first party due to Sony having the capital and the daring to moneyhat big games. I'm not sure if you've heard of it, but FFVIII was purchased in such a fashion

What he says is true of now, but not of the past.

The PS and PS2 were built on GREAT 3rd party exclusive/ timed exclusive support, with minimal 1st party support. The PS3... Not so much.

How many 3rd party exclusives (or timed) have Sony had this gen, when compared to 1st party games? The only notable ones i can think of are MGS4 and Heavy Rain...

Anyway... The underlined...

You think the 360 is going to "destroy" the PS3? Didn't the PS1 end up with over 100 Million units? Compared to the 33M of the 64?

Edit - :(

Believe it or not, I have heard of it!    The thing is, I was talking about now and not 10 years ago.  Sony now has 1st party studios out the ears.  That's why Sony has stated that it will not compete with microsoft for 3rd party timed exclusivity deals so I don't understand how what I said is so far from the truth.

And in regards to the old gamers knowing exactly how the battle turns out part.  I can only assume that you think that the 360 will end up destroying the PS3 in sales because of their exclusivity deals?  Or what?

What if a meteor plunged into our ocean, creating a tidal wave that wipes out all life?

Why talk about it, it's just as likely.

By 3rd party, I'd assume you meant both developed and published by a 3rd party, so Sony had no direct influence, which means Heavy Rain is off the list.

What would be the point? If they were to go ps3 exclusive then it'd make sense to just sign on with Sony directly. Less middlemen.

I doubt they would leave xbox eclusivity just to move to exclusivity on another platform. I doubt they'd risk attempting to move their xbox audience over to the playstation or risk creating a new audience there. No this deal with be for a multi-platform release. That way they get the xbox audience and everyone else aswell.

Yeah, so the PS3 is similar to the N64 and the 360 to the PS1. However, Sony were much more successful with the PS1 than MS were with the 360. So the effect that the Ps1 had on the N64 is similar, but of much greater magnitude.

So no, the 360 did not, and will not destroy the Ps3, however MS 'stealing' a lot of 3rd party support from Sony contributed to the PS3's sales situation.

I dunno, it depends how much people actually love bungie. As opposed to the halo IP.

I think it could result in an extra boost, but I don't think one developer can other a console that much outside of nintendo. Because the PS3 can't get halo. So it would have to be a new IP.

I personally don't like bungie or halo either, but I know I'm not the majority in the USA.

Edit: I answered the topic and now. activision has no reason to go non-multiplatform. Because Bungie Fanatics most likely bought the xbox.  But then again, it is activision. And if anything if you compare it to MW2 that sold better on xbox. So sony would have to pay activision a ludicrous amount, for a game that may not even be bigger than killzone 2.

halo is out of the question as MS owns it.

Bungie could develop something else too besides FPS but i have no idea what bungie would do

i don't think it will be fully exclusive.if timed exclusive, sony would pay around $50-100m atleast for the first game.it could be more for the second if the first is a big hit.

it could be also that Activision acted quickly and brought in Bungie in to protect Activision image and Infinity Wards Substitute but not for the COD franchise.

You talk out of your ass.

Huge waste of money for Sony, unless that game was called "Halo" nobody would care. Think about it, to MS fans Bungie = Halo, and Sony fans have spent the last 5 years calling Bungie anywhere from mediocre to bad. Who would buy it?
