Forums - Nintendo - Will the DS pass the GBA and Gamecube in Green Games at Metacritic?

As it stands right now, with only a few months to go before the next generation in Nintendo handhelds starts, the DS only has 183 Green rated (games with scores in the 75 to 100 range which is supposed to indicate the very best, must have games) titles on Metacritic.

The Gamecube over the course of its lifespan managed to have 192 Green games at Metacritic and the Gameboy Advance had 193. (For referance purposes, the Nintendo 64 had 57 and the Wii currently has 146 Green games on Metacritic.)

Do you think the DS still has time to pass GBA and Gamecube in Green games before it is retired?

Most likely.

yes.

There's still a bunch of games that'll be released for it, and games will still be released after the 3DS comes out, even if it is a lot less. So it has a good chance.

And by that I declare Metacritic sucks!

(imo, at least :) - lol, DS has the best library ever in my opinion!)

Most likely I am surprised it has not already.

So, the DS has a worse library than the cube? LOL? (Not that the Cube hasn't it's gems, but common!)

Above: still the best game of the year.

Well a lot of it has to do with the number of sports titles that were being published at that time. There seems to be more than are being published now.

Also, the Gamecube tended to get its own version of every big third party multiplatform title (with the exception of the GTA games) that was being released back then.

Yeah, this just goes to show how out of touch with realtiy the majority of video game reviewers are
