Forums - Nintendo - Will Madden Ever Sell a Million on Wii?

No, Wii fans are eagerly waiting for Mario Football, they'll never be satisfied with inferior products!

Damn straight!  An arcade-y Mario football experience that's easy to pick up and play but has tons of depth like Mario Golf, Tennis, and Strikers do would be absolutely killer... Nintendo why didn't you think of this before?!?

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

According to VGC, Madden 08 was pretty much there.

Notice it started to die off when EA thought Wii gamers wanted non-realistic versions. All they had to do was supply the PS360 versions with lightly less detail + motion. meh. Instead Wii kept getting PS2 ports then watered down arcade fests.

This 100%.

What's 100%? Click the link and it should show a list of each Madden game that's been on Wii. Madden 08 sold 960k, which is pretty much 1m. After 08, madden on Wii started selling less and less as it was turned into an even worse game.

The same reason there's no Mario Rugby or Mario Cricket!

Nintendo games are mostly universal - or at least popular in japan.

Football would only sell in the USA, they don't bother. Which is unfortunately, because for the reasons you said I would love a Mario Football too!

LoL. Meaning I 100% agree w/ you.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

If they keep treating Wii users like idiots, no they won't.

No because it is shit

Maybe if Mario or Link joins the NFL.

Demon's Souls Official Thread  | Currently playing: Left 4 Dead 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, Magicka

When they stop making Madden something it's not (I.E. Big Heads and random gestures) than I think they may have themselves a winner.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Most of the people that want Madden are graphics whores. You could even say Madden has served as a benchmark for graphics technology for the last decade or so. The gameplay, on the other hand, really hasn't changed that much at all.

So, no, I don't think people are going to buy much of Madden on the Wii, unless EA creates a completely different type of football game.

EA only needs to do a proper Wii madden for it to perform well.

All they did till now either was PS2 ports and trashy cartonish versions. Which gamers don't want.
