Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Is Zelda Wii 2011 inminent now?

Well, it could of course get delayed if its not up to the perfection that is Nintendo. However, the Metroid delay would not impact this as Zelda is a HUGE title and Nintendo would not fear putting it out against *any* recent game release.

Except maybe Mario.

I think Nintendo believes that the big hit this holidays will be Wii Vitality and its software.
So they don't need another one, like Zelda.
And when someone scream desiring a hardcore game they will answer that there are Other M and Galaxy2.

I would like to be wrong, but i believe that Zelda is a march 2011 release.

and you think this why? Nintendo had Wii Sports Resort & Wii Fit Plus last year, but they still got NSMBWii out he door.

Wii Vitality should be released around the same time WSR was (vitality is suppsoed to be released ASAP after E3 according to Nintendo) and then there is nothing left with a solid date until 2011 (well Other M got delayed)

A good part is just my opinion, just a supposition.

I believe that Wii Vitality will be a holiday title, not a summer one.

The summer we will have Galaxy2(extended period), Sin and Punishment2 and Flying Smash(aim the "casuals").

Other M at Q3

And Q4 there will be the Wii Vitality and   ?!?there is a vacuum here?!?

I realy don't know what nintendo will offer to us at holidays, but I don't believe that is Zelda because it wasn't announced yet.

And games like this realy take time to make, you could say that nintendo already released games few months after announce,

they made this with NSMB Wii, but they already had the game engine and this is a 2D game, which means the programming and debuging parts are faster to make and fix.

I think that they made this with Punch Out too but i'm not sure, but my argument here would be that it's a much smaller game than Zelda.

And at holidays nintendo will have others releases options, like Xenoblade and Dynamic Slash, both first half year releases in Japan.

It has been announced as potentially playable at E3 and with an expected release in late 2010 by multiple Nintendo peoples. However, that doesn't mean it won't get delayed as Nintendo will not accept anything but perfection.

I actually prefer Zelda gets "delayed". Because that means Nintendo has another huge title for the holidays.

Zelda is all but locked in for November release.

It would take an act of unforeseen power to delay it into 2011.

Zelda is not even confirmed for 2010 they just said they hope to get it out for the end of the year, Reggie not even giving a solid confimation for a 2010 release should of given people an inclination of a 2011 release, 2011 is the release window I've been expecting for Zelda tbh.

Nov 2010. I'm telling you it's a lock.

Reggie, Miyamoto, Iwata have all pointed at it but having given a concrete answer not because it would likely slip to 2011 but because they have big plans for E3 and the date will be revealed there at the Media Briefing.

Bold part.

What i desired to say when i talked about programming and debuging.

Iwata said that Zelda would release this year.   Reggie has also mentioned seeing Zelda.  I believe he actually stated that he played it at one point-- but I can't remember where I saw that.  It might have been Nintendoweek.

If anything, Zelda might see a late 2010 release in Japan and an early 2011 release in the West-- but I am pretty sure that Zelda will see a Nov. 2010 release in the US.  Nintendo needs a big holiday game to keep momentum going, and Wii Vitality is just too big of an unknown; it might be huge, like Wii Fit, or it might bomb like Wii Music.

Zelda is a relatively small game compared to the expanded market games. What makes you think that they are dead set on bringing it out in November, when they allowed Metroid to be pushed back. Zelda does not sell much more than Metroid.

And as far as the whole "nintendo never announces things until they are ready to come out", that has nothing to do with it. Other M will have gone more than a year from announcement. So don't think it has any warrant on when zelda is coming out.

Previously, I thought it might be 2011, but I am accepting the possibility of a mid December release, although I think Nintendo would rather push it to february or march in order to keep sales high during a slow-down period.
Think about it, how much sales will zelda actually push if it comes out in november? Will it really push it any more than the wii would sell on its own? I think that a release in early 2011 will give it much more attention and boost more sales, especially considering tax rebate season.
