So, what do you guys think about monster hunter tri's sales?  They're pretty good imo, but posibly not good enough.  It's an excelent high budget game with internet, a long single player mode and it also recieved good publicity and promotion. 

Lower than expected sales may be due to the games initial unfriendliness towards newcomers to the franchise.

It did over double any other MH outside of Japan. I think the thread below sums up my feelings of any comments other than it's doing well.

Sales confirm that implementing online play in a "hardcore" Wii game is a smart move, too bad most third party publishers are blind.

I blame the liberal media, and their fascist environmental agenda, on Monster Hunters poor sales.

Honestly, I've never played any of these Monster Hunter games, I'm surprised about the amount of hype around it.

It has performed well above general expectations in the West so I think the sales are great. I still haven't tried it myself but it looks really fun! Definitely on my purchase list.

Nearly 750,000 units sold in week 1 is not good enough? How much friendlier do you want it to be? I'd rather it not hold my hand throughout the entire game.

Almost 200k first week in the west? Most successful MH game here to date. I was thinking 200k first month...certainly outdid my expectations.

183,000 first week sales in America and others. We're not counting Japan because we already know its a success over there.

That's pretty good considering most core games usually don't get to half that amount in their first week. The test now is to see how the legs hold up.

I was expecting pretty much exactly this, but that's cos I've followed it closely on the Americas preorder charts. Regardless, I think Capcom is happy with this. They've made a lot of profit on the game in Japan, considering they sold over a million and it's pay to play over there. The western sales are icing on their cake

Hopefully others week 2 will be good - that's launch week in Australia, and presumably a bunch of other countries like New Zealand, and with the $100 price cut down under there could be some decent sales.
