IS it surprising that MH3 is at #1?

just wondering cus I have no idea what it should have done sales wise and loads of people keep saying that.

MH3 at number one is a surprise to me. I never thought of MH as a big seller in America. Guess, I was wrong.

LittleBigPlanet up to 11th in Americas SW... :O
Bundles at work, I guess?

Assassin's Creed 2 on PS3 also outselling the 360 version comfortably, despite much smaller install base, which adds further credence to my theory that Playstation gamers are bigger on the adventure genre.

It's due to the Greatest Hits edition.

Didn't that come out ages ago? Could have sworn it's been on shelves since September 09 or thereabouts?

That's the Game of the Year edition you're talking about. The Greatest Hits edition is basically just a lower price of 29,99$.

I don't know how it could be said it isn't in tight demand....

Maybe IOI can go in more depth on how it's not in tight supply when

1) You can't get a system on Amazon (without going through a 3rd party and paying abot MSRP)

2) You can't get a system online on gamestop.com unless you want a refurb or a "gamestop made" bundle.

3) You can't get a non-refub system online at bestbuy.com

I know these are only a few retailers, though they are probably the 3 of the biggest 4 (wal-mart). I'm guessing you can use other methods to figure out if they are supply constrained, so maybe you could go into what those are, because by every measurable way a normal person can check, it is most definetly, without a doubt, supply constrained.

You can to get a system at Best Buy. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Sony+-+PlayStation+3+(120GB)/9476952.p?id=1218115837227&skuId=9476952

The systems ship next day.

You might want to check that link one more time.  As I clicked it and it stated it was sold out online.  Also when buying a PS3 from Amazon directly, it states that it may take up to 4 weeks before it can be shipped.  Target and Wal-mart seem to have a few online, though.  Last time I went to my local Wal-marts they each had only 2 on shelves.  I think it is pretty obvious the 120 GB PS3 is still supply constrained in certain areas, as well as on some online stores.

Edit:  Actually Target doesn't have any online, either.  They say "Arriving Soon!" and that it may take up to 4 weeks to ship.  Also just did a quick search online at Gamestop.  They aren't selling any normal PS3 Sku's.  Only their own bundles, and those are limited to 1 per household.  Their bundle is a damn ripoff if you ask me.  It's $380 and all you get extra is another Dual Shock ($45-55) and a Blu-Ray Remote ($20), so you're actually paying an extra $5-$15 just so you can get a PS3.

PSP is doing so poorly .....

Alright numbers for PS360

Good numbers for Wii / DS

Who's the best Pac, Nas, and Big. Just leave it to that.

PLAYSTATION®3 is the future.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E

Slaughterhouse Is The Sh*t  .... NOW ........ B_E_L_I_E_V_E

the hardware numbers aren't that bad though are they,we are coming into to the real slow time and they have been selling quite well for the last few months i thought,

even the PSP numbers are relative most likely, although the psp is not going well in the USA,obviously

                                                                                                                                        Above & Beyond

I can't believe people still think the PS3 is supply constraint....

The last NPD saw PS3 over-tracked by like 120k on here.

The PS3 numbers have decreased for sometime now but the big drops are due to as ioi said this period being the slow period for games.

Just because something is not selling as well as it once was does not mean it is due to some harsh supply constraint. Just face it the hype of the PS3 on this website does not match the hype for it everywhere else. For example here in the UK, just before, during and after FFXIII,GOW3,BC2 etc it was averaging around 16k a week. We have been nearly 4-8 weeks from that period and it is now down to around 8k-9k a week. This does not mean it is out of stock because it is everywhere here. It just means it needs something else now to boost sales. It is the cycle of selling.

Someone please go tell Amazon.ca, it seems like they were not aware of that fact.
