 well it might have a chance but i thinks its unlikely now with increased compititon from the ps3 which might steal some sales and the wii being more available (or just more) so i think it has a chance i just dont think it will

I'm saying yes. It should do 1.5m worldwide over December, and another 400k (or close) in the last 2 weeks of November.

It will be close though.

...

So... anyone still think Sony can make their fiscal projections? If they hit 8m sold by the end of the year, I think they only need to sell (around) 6m Q1 '08 ;)

Id say its possible...but unlikely. This is the holiday season so sale should be up a great deal...plus with a cheaper system ($400...cheaper?) it does give some and easier to find then a wii...it could sway a parents mind to purchase it rather then a 360.

Maybe, but you would expect more, so maybe if the two cancel out, it should still be almost 16 million (with 2.8 million sold) by end of year



                 With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

360 should be about 15.75
Wii is tough, anything from 18.5 - 20

ill say 7.5m unless between Europe (80k), Japan, and the US gets above 700k.then id say 7.75

 Well, last year Wiis were no where to be found, PS3 was not released in Europe yet and very hard to find in US/Japan so basically the 360 had competition except PS2. And from what I recall PS2 sold more than 360. This year with more Wiis and PS3s available worldwide I think 360 might actually do less than last year but we will see.

Should reach it especially if there is a shortage of wiis which would help the ps3 and the 360.

I say it will be between 8M and 8.5M

Assuming it sold 250K for last week (maybe more?) then it will need 1.62M in 5 weeks. About 324k/week average. That's about 50% more than the week before Thanksgiving so it's very reasonable.
