blow in the game. then try cleaning with alcohol. if these dont work then try these methods:

1) buy the game for ps1
2) buy the game for gameboy advance
3) download the rom for free and play it for free on a ps1, snes, or gba emulator

www.romulation.net

google zsnes emulator, visual boy advance emulator, or psxfin emulator

lol yeah they are 99.9% of the time. there onky weakness is giant killing monkys

Possibly try out Q-tips and rubbing alcohol. Clean the contacts on the game, the adapter, and the SNES for absolute best signal transfer. If that doesn't work, then yeah, import an American SNES. It's not like they're that expensive anyhow.

It's pretty obvious that if it doesn't work with another adapter that it's a faulty cartrigde. So importing an American System won't solve his problem... If it doesn't work with another adapter, ask for a refunt from the seller!

No, that's not obvious in the least. Not a single adapter has 100% compatibility, and the majority of the incompatible games are almost always late-in-the-generation titles. Final Fantasy VI is a perfect example of a late-gen title. It's very likely a game like this won't work with MOST adapters. Yeah, you said you've played it on "several" adapters. There are several more that you haven't. We don't have enough information to be certain about your experience being valid enough with his situation.

And even so, he said his adapter hasn't worked for ANY of his non-Japanese titles.

Besides, an imported American system will solve a ton of other problems.

Also, the word is spelled "refund". With a "d".

If you never played the game before- just download an emulator and a ROM.

If you have played the game... well... it doesn't matter than, just add it to your collection :P

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

I don't know what I did to deserve such a rude answer as I'm only trying to help here, but heh...it's the internet!

I seem to be the only person answering in this thread who actually played this game with THREE different adapters on a PAL SNES. While this game was one of the late-gen titles it doesn't have the features of those games. It doesn't use a special chip, and it doesn't have "side-connecters", just look at the cartrigde and you see that it only has one row of connecters, several more advanced cartrigdes have two small rows of connecters extra (on the left and right of the normal connecter). Not all adapters cover these games and you need the more rare adapters for those. Final Fantasy III surely doesn't need a special adapter and will surely WORK on MOST adapters. So if it doesn't work on another adapter, ask for a refunD!

Thanks everyone for the help.
This is the converter that I am using.

I emailed the guy that sold me the game and he said that he was using a Super Honey Bee Converter to play it, so I'm going to get one of those.

Knowing that I should be able to play it with a good converter is really helpful information. Thanks a lot.

In the worst case, I would have to get an american SNES. They are rare on tradera.com though and expensive if I buy them on online stores. I will need an american SNES anyway to play Super Mario RPG some day.

To those of you who suggested an emulator. That is of course the logical thing to do. But I it would feel a little like cheating to me :) Also, the cartridge cost me around 1000kr wich is around $70-$80 so I really want it to work.

I'll try to clean it to. That was a really good suggestion. I recently got the Japanese Final Fantasy V cartridge to work on the adapter so I know the connectors on the adapter are good, but perhaps the FFVI cartridge needs cleaning.

I LOVE ICELAND!

And a q-tip is a cotton bud. Took a while to work out what yanks meant whenever they said that. :)
