No, that's not obvious in the least. Not a single adapter has 100% compatibility, and the majority of the incompatible games are almost always late-in-the-generation titles. Final Fantasy VI is a perfect example of a late-gen title. It's very likely a game like this won't work with MOST adapters. Yeah, you said you've played it on "several" adapters. There are several more that you haven't. We don't have enough information to be certain about your experience being valid enough with his situation.
And even so, he said his adapter hasn't worked for ANY of his non-Japanese titles.
Besides, an imported American system will solve a ton of other problems.
