Say whatever you want but the User Generated Content idea was gold, which is why LBP is so fun.

Overall Nintendo wins hands down, followed by Sega, then Sony, then MS.

thanks man. now this is a post i can truly get behind. well done. some people forget that LBP was all about creating your own work and enjoying everyone elses.

Little big planet
Jak and daxter
Uncharted
Ico
shadow of collossus
Ratchet and Clank

all come to mind with sony platformers , and sure 1 of then is from a 2nd party, but they still own the ip, not all of nintendo's first party is made by 1st party they also have 2nd party devs under hand.

Now I have seen everything.

So in this thread does Metroid Prime count as a platformer too?

While there have been various companies that have matched Nintendo in this genre at various times, when taken across several generations and including this one, I really don't think any other company is in the same league as Nintendo.

I think so. And as someone mentioned earlier in the thread, Counter-Strike would be qualified as a platformer as well.

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

I'd put Sega, Capcom, Rare, Konami, and probably several others between Nintendo and Sony in this category.

Especially if you go by leo-j's definition, because than I'd have to count Half-Life 2 and Portal as platformers and Valve would blow all of them away. (Portal is 10 times the platformer Uncharted is, but it's still not a platformer.)

They added a jumping unit to StarCraft 2, so I guess that's a platformer now too.

Actually, why isn't Portal a First-Person-Puzzle-Platformer?

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

Platformers are Nintendos strength
Shooter/FPS mainly are MS strength
Action/adventure/Rpg are Sony strength

Btw above statements are 'imo'

However they all have good platformers, and famous doesn't mean the best btw..it's purely opinion based, I for one do not care much for mario games anymore (however gotta admite galaxy is GOOD) I would take LBP with it's creation tools over Mario any day, but that's just my opinion, as is what the OP said was his/her opinion. SO ppl chill!!!!

Henshin a GO GO BABY!

Nintendo and Sony are is the best at platforming

Fixed that 4 ya!

thats not a fix. you just made a typo.  (P.s. that statment is the kind of thing that brings fan boys out and i don't like fanboys so please try to avoid doing things like this.)

Sorry but Sony is no where near as Nintendo is in the platform genre. Also, there are more companies that i would choose before choosing Sony (in that genre)

You can see this as my opinion.... but I'm telling nothing but the truth here

Really people, because you don't favor something now means you ignore their accomplishments? Sad, very sad.

Or I was joking around with him even though I too would put a couple before Sony on this. Hints the LOL face Taking your games to serious? sad, very sad Besides My 2nd post on this has a couple Sony platformers I enjoyed a lot

SPYRO, RATCHET AND CLANK, JAK, LBP, CRASH. And maybe some others. The only good Nintendo platformers have Mario in the name, and M$. They prefer repetitive FPS's

I play PC and PS3. The best of both worlds.
