Forums - Sales - First Day Sales in Japan (No More Heroes PS3/360)

@doopie_wop

IF one recalls correctly, when NMH lanched the gameing media had a field day about how it failed so terribly. IF everyone wa a logical as you, their would be no need for smart ass commnets like my own, but alas that isnt the world we live in. So my post was more directed at the nonsensical fanboys that autmotically assume that an "HD game" would sell millions.

The game is doing about as well as the Wii version, considering what Amertsartu said.

I love the drama. Whine whine whine, bitch bitch bitch. I should have been a HD game, it will sell better on any HD system, I will buy it if it comes out... blah blah blah.

on the flip side Wii get's a 2 year old FPS gimped port. It doesn't sell as well HD originals and then the HD Fanbois snicker and laugh at how shitty the sales are, pat themselves on the back for there right comments about how Wii doesn't sell games. Then turn around saying that no one buys ports.

This thread is the epitome of double standard hypocrisy. I love it. Please continue :)

This man has a point and on top of that this wasn't a cut down port like MW either it's was touched up and enhanced in certain areas to make up for lack of MC so more money has gone into this then MW.

Edit: One more thing the Wii version had legs to reach 480k do people think the HD versions will be even selling after the first few months?

Hardcore games don't sell on HD consoles confirmed.

Its doing okay for a very unpopular game in Japan, remember Suda 51 is more interested in developing games for the western market than for japan.

It was toched up and enhaced because it was ported to more powerful consoles, and if the wii and the ps3 and 360 had the same capabilities and enhacement would mean something, but this upgrades dont even leave it as an average HD console game so it means very little.

And the game will probably lack legs because it isnt good and has competition, but it seems it will do similar numbers to the wii version on both consoles. Comparing a game that is subpar to the rest on the hd consoles and of a not known developer and series to a game that has the name of one of the most well known series, best selling, and better than most of the shooters the wii had is ridiculous.

Only thing rediculous is how some people are trying to dismiss it, fact is it was touched up no two ways about it, Suda could of just done a straight port with no enhancements and say f**k it, MW was dropped on Wii with no incentive to buy it two years late and save the fact that 14/15m people had already bought the game two years earlier it's clear only Wii only players were really up for MW while NMH was ported over with some added extras. Grasshopper are also quite known and have been since Killer 7 and the last statement is laughable when the are practically no shooters on the Wii and even then Red Steel 2 and Metroid Prime Trilogy rape the MW port easily. At this rate it won't reach the 480k mark the Wii version is at going by how the HD market works.

actually there is no way to win.

If NMH sells more on PS3/360, it's hardcore games don't sell on Wii.
If NMH sells less on PS3/360, it's because NMH is bad games and there are too many competition on the HD console. And it's a late port too.

This happen to all ports.

When ToV sold better on PS3 than 360, it's because PS3 sells JRPGs.
When SO4 sold worse on PS3 than 360, it's because it's a late port and SO4 sucks.

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

I definitely consider it progress for the Xbox 360 in Japan when you see that 45% or so of the people interested in this port got the Xbox 360 version. Yes the Xbox 360 version has the uncensored content but the simple fact that 45% of this port's audience even has an Xbox 360 to begin with says a lot about how much the Xbox 360 appeals to the hardcore Japanese gamer.

First let me say that to all the Fanboys!!!

Before we start judging the game. Let the whole week happen first. Then we can really see where this game stands.

With the HD graphics, no motion controls ,and extra modes. It's more of a PLus 1 than a port over. So let's treat it like one.

Next then compare the Amount of Wii sold in Japan 3 years ago. To the amount of PS3 sold now. The 360 isn't going to matter. So just compare both main versions of the game. The Wii almost 3 year old release, and the new PS3 game.

I know what you mean, for the record I'm not knocking any HD platform as I own both 360/PS3 but it is a bit highly hypocritical, MW had sold 14/15m long before it's two year old port, how many more sales were they really expecting especially from a cut down port released along side it's sequel, here we have a touched up port not selling as well and the first thing being said from people is that it's not a mass market game compared to other titles, like they've only just realized. I'd bet money that if NMH sold loads media outlets would be singing from the rooftops about it.
