How would comiting arson affect cleggs ability to govern 20 odd years later?

Yes indeed he did.

I could never condone arson. Personally I think it is something that is unacceptable and irresponsible. Also wasn't just any cactuses, he obliterated a rare type belonging to a leading proffesor. It would just like me massacring an endangered animal, sure it's only "minor" but it's still foolish.

I find it to be somewhat comical and even hypocritical that he wants to crack down on these kinds of crimes. Maybe, under his leadership he would have landed himself jail time.

Dear God.....Clegg is rising in popularity!

This is not a good sign for the people of Britain, we DONT want a criminal in charge of our proud nation. He talks about Role Models and yet he is no better.

As a 16-year-old exchange student in Munich, Germany, he performed community service for a minor case of arson he and a friend burned Germany's leading collection of cacti belonging to a professor.

I thought people who commit arson weren't allowed to be politicians? Maybe I'm wrong

I think there are quite enough reasons not to vote for Clegg without the justification that he burned a cactus as a child.

^ Fair enough.

Can anyone highlight the advantages to joining the Euro? I know Clegg seems to be keen on the idea.

They agree to joining the Euro in principle but say the the conditions are not right at the moment and that we should only join if approved by a referendum.

Europe will like us more. And that's about it.

Though to be honest, the one area in which I disagree with the Tory policy is Europe. It's basically "Screw Belgium, we'll run our own country".

Nice on paper, but in reality...
