well technically this is different from the other thread, unless the other threads OP brings up IGN numbers from the US.

Also the other thread has turned into a nonsensical debate about something Montana set to bait. =/

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

The Official Huge Monster Hunter Thread:

The Hunt Begins 4/20/2010 =D

IGN Australia is Next, now i hope they give it a 9.. it deserves that rating.. you don't just call it one of the best games on the wii and give it an 8.8.. one of the best games on the wii should be in the 9's

Jesus, listen to yourselves! 8.8 isn't good enough?! Get a grip, there's always a stern choir and accusing finger when people complain over scores of HD games that are below 9 and "deserve more".
This is damn good score for a game with this premise (basically no story, you go around whacking monsters).

Besides; what does it matter? The most enjoyable games I've played this gen have been rated lower than this and plenty of 90++ games have sucked imo.

IGN review is up game got an 8.8....
However review say the game is not for casual gamers as difficulty ramps up pretty quickly.

Funny a Wii game that doesn't appeal everyone get a lower overall score then what a PS360 game that also doesn't appeal to everyone...

Funny world we live in....

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

I just don't see any faults with the game. Sure you can nitpick loading times and the general complex nature of the gameplay, but when you look at all the pieces of the game (presentation, sound, gameplay, lasting appeal) there's nothing that stands out as below a 9.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

read the review god damnit, and stop getting pissed off about a numeric score. This game looks godly, and you really shouldn't be complaining about the 8.8. I mean, your either gonna buy it, or you're not

If you read the full review you can tell that it is a great game worth the purchase, etc....However, the IGN people know that 90% of readers just look at the numeric score, its just lazy human nature. I would support reviews without numeric scores, force people to read it, kind of like movie reviews. Oh well...
