Did you play on an SD tv and a console with a bricked graphic's card? No way does that trailer look anywhere near as good as either KZ2 or Uncharted

I played on an HD TV.  All of those games that I mentioned.

Rewatch the trailer in HD, take off the goggles and you'll see what I mean

But as I said, I question the real time claim.

If ( and it's a big if ) that trailer was using ingame engine to make that trailer then Gears 3 will be giving Alan Wake and Crysis 2 a run for top graphics this gen. However, Epic have their work cut out. Mass Effect 2 is the best looking UE3 title s far. Remedy have shown what a specialized engine on 360 can accomplish. And CryEngine 3 is waiting just around the corner. Media have already witnessed Crysis 2 and Alan Wake to Graphical acclaim. So if Epic want UE3 and it's new post processing effects etc to wow. They have to beat games considered by some already to be the best the gen has seen.

We will see Epic. Mass Effect 3 will be using these new updates to for 2011. So will Bioware trump you again with your own engine?

I did watch it on HD, and I saw it on the jimmy fallon show in HD, the character models don't look anywhere near as good as those seen in the other 3 games, maybe kz2. The environment also was lacking.. and calling me a fanboy is a bannable offense, this is for the bolded.

edit: To everyone, sorry that not agreeing that the trailer looked jaw dropping automatically makes me your target for off topic posts.

I wasn't really impressed with that trailer. And there is no way in hell that's in-game footage, it was created specifically for being a trailer. Hell Cliffy B even says "when you see the realtime gameplay of Gears 3, it looks very very great" which implies that WE HAVEN'T seen in-game real time footage yet, or he'd tell us. He'd be boasting that, yes, this is how Gears 3 looks, wouldn't he?

Anyway, it's going to look nice. I would just prefer a little more variety in the colours. Just a little would really do Gears Wonders.

I have to agree that the visuals look just like Gears 2 to me. But, I find Gears 2 to look exceptional. Bring on another awesome campaign.

Good graphics based on that trailer,

far from the "best" imo. Not sure if I would even call the trailer great (then again im a fanboy so don't take me too seriously, just wanted to throw my 2 cents xD).

So is Gears 3 really pushing the 360 hardware? Yep. In a new interview with Meristation, when asked if they were pushing Xbox 360 hardware even more, Cliff’s answer was:

“I assure you that when you see the realtime gameplay of Gears 3, it looks very very great and even better than Gears of War 2, yeah we’re pushing it (Xbox 360)”

Some of the new additions mentioned to the updated Unreal engine is global and ambient lighting, better textures and post processing effects.

Well, it would be pretty odd if it didn't look better than Gears 2.  Though I'm still one of those wierdos that perferred the graphics (art) in GoW over GoW 2.
