You may not *like* all of them, but these were really effective ads. I chose the last one because the And and Dec ads were found to be the most effective UK ads of 2009.

What is a 'good' commercial?  One that sells lots of product or one that's entertaining?   I think the thread would be better off being titled 'Which company makes the most entertaining commercials this gen?' if it is the latter.

A good commercial is an effective commercial. The big three are not making ads purely for your personal enjoyment.

@ guys arguing over meaning of thread title

Replace 'best' with 'awesome', and I think it should be clear. That's how I interpret it anyway (from both the title and the OP).

It's not just the commercials that sell the products,  it's how the product meets the consumer demands.  The commercials should be judged on their own merit and apart from the sales, as their effectiveness doesn't necessarily have to directly correlate with more sales.  Most people consider the Apple Macintosh commercials from the 1984 Ridley Scott video to the latest Mac guy versus PC guy campaign to be far better than anything ever made by IBM/Intel/Microsoft.  The PC's however have continued to sell more than Macintoshes, but that's because the product is better aligned with the marketplace despite having inferior and less effective commercials.  Therefore the Kevin Butler commercials could be, and in my opinion are, better than the Wii would like to play commercials, and the Wii versus PS3 sales don't have to factor into this in any significant manner.
