I was in Europe on vacation 3 weeks ago. Germany, Hungary, Serbia...and it was the oposite

In all 3 countries PS3 has much more of a retail presence. I couldn't even find anything xbox in Serbia while they had PS3 games for sale, and Germany had the console and a handful of games in a few stores while PS3 was available everywhere. Hungary had one store that had 20-30 Ps3 and wii games while they only had the Tekken 6 fight stick for the 360...and thats it. Namco surely overshipped that game...lol

North America isn't as bad and you can find most PS3 stuff in Best buys, Wal Mart etc...but 360 sections are always bigger than PS3s.

at least in my area (chicago) the 360 section tends to be around twice as big as the ps3 at best buy but the other way around at target.  i'm sure target doesn't sell nearly as many video games but i always thought of it as odd.

Yeah Best buy and Future Shop are 360 land here in Canada. EB games/Gamestop also has more 360 stuff since they are used games land...

Wal mart, Zellers (like Target in Canada) can go either way and are usually equal.

gamestop in NYC has the Wii/DS/PSP/PS3 on the first floor and the entire bottom floor dedicated to 360!

I thought it was clear I said this year.  The PS3 will sell more hardware units in USA this year 2010 than the Xbox 360. I don;t know how much, but it'll be enough to claim the 2nd spot in USA this year.

Because when consumers go into the stores, they are buying more 360's than PS3's.

Even with full supply they would be selling equally in NA.

Resons include:
- online community:you want to play games with your buddies and a lot more people have a 360 in NA than PS3
- Arcade system is 199
- Greater library of older games for less $$$
- Future 360 game releases more appealing to NA crowd

Also, you seem to be overestimating the superiority of the PS3, compared to 360. Sure it has bluray and wifi but those alone dont provide fun. Games do...

God of War 3 is one of the first PS3 exclusive games where a lot of my "North American" friends said "Damn I wish I had a PS3".

lol i think mgs4 made 360 owners more jelous. they spent the next 2 years saying it was gona come to the 360 and then they final gave up :P

radha dont buy into that. id say the 360 has already outsold the ps3 in america by 100k units so far this year. and the first few months the ps3 had the advantage of better games and still had moderate slim effect. the rest of the year is 360 time. it has better games, will get price cut, and maybe a slim version. i dont know if that will be enough to put the 360 on top of the ps3 in europe but america is sealed up untill early 2011.

halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)

x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.

1. 360 has had price advantage since the beginning

2. Americans like to buy American (360 is American, PS3 is Japanese)

3. In North America your friends probably have a 360 and not a PS3 so you buy a 360 as well

The PS3 has been battling supply contraints on for the PS3 since the Slim version came out. Even to this day they are still having supply issues, at least in my area.

People buy what their friends have, so they can swap software, and also play online with them.  Considering the wide margin the 360 has sold over the PS3, that is a major reason.
