Om Hell No, This is why all Wii shooters have a score or 6 to 7 on average.

I totally agree FPS on consoles has become so formulaic that there is hardly any control innovation. If anything we have lost functionality, I can only hold 2 weapons in Halo please. Can you lay down in Halo? No! Hell if 95% of FPS players turned off aim assist they would be absolutely horrible. You want better Wii shooters then buy the ones on the market so that developers realize there is money in the system.
What shooters are we talking about ?

@jneul: Actually i meant that we can't judge how the game will be received by consumers, when the judgement is based on the marketing and PR.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.
To prove that something being more accurate is better, you would have to prove how being more accurate makes it better. Better in this instance being a game interface probably amounts to 'more fun to use'.
Just because I use the mouse/keyboard interface because I am most comfortable with it doesn't mean that I have the right to call 'dibs' on having the bestest interface that thy heathen scum console user brethren hasn't.
I also happen to love Halo, Halo to me is the apex of FPS games on consoles because in terms of controls and physical interface its the easiest console shooter to play by a mile and a half. The next one in line will have wide open spaces and a 78 degree FOV which will be heaven for me.
I don't love the Wiimote because I don't love many games which make use of it, at least in terms of shooters. The standard PS3/Xbox 360 interfaces are very respectable interfaces. They allow people to enjoy a wide range of genres which is pretty fantastic. Loving one interface is not reason enough to think that any other interface is the sucks. The internet is full of stupid, so if people don't like something, it = sux and theres no scope for the idea that other people might have other values than yourself.
Tease.
just comparing shooting mechanics here but in my experience mouse>wiimote>any gamepad ever.
the gamepad is the biggest piece of fail for precision , i dont see how people can deny it oh and motion controllers will be the standard for precision on console and the gamepad will be there for sports and platformers the way it should be.
bye gamepad !!! you sucked then and you suck now

dude no im sorry it has nothing to with halo or the conduit, it has everthing to do with precision and the gamepad does not have better precision than a mouse or recent motion controller.
why do you think games like starcraft or games like world of goo stay away from the gamepad ? its not becuse the gamepad is to good for them its because those games are to damn precise for a gamepad.
the wii could have rts titles done perfectly but they wont sell instead it brings a more colorful puzzler like world of goo and succeeds brilliantly, shooters are no different the aiming is better with a mouse or motion controller and that is the MAIN mechanic of a shooter , gamepads for shooters worked for a while but now we can implement better tech for game consoles and its about time they changed it

First paragraph: Precision doesn't make the interface better, it just makes it more precise.
Second: Why do you think games like fighters stay away from the keyboard? Different interfaces have differing strengths, try again.
Third: How is shooting better? I propose a thought interface with perfect shooting. With it I can think and you die faster than you can even move your hand. Perfect interface, yes/no? If more people are using the gamepad every year and few people are buying the games on the Wii inspite your insistance that its a better interface to the contrary I would propose that the gamepad is a perfectly workable controller and no barrier to the enjoyment of shooter games for most people.

I happen to agree that wii shooters are better on the wii. Not grapically but overall its a better experience. The wii mote is great for FPS's its a different way to play. First person shooters have been around for at least 18 years. I have essentially being playing the same game for 18 years just slightly different each time. Something more had to change. The wii mote changes the FP shooter more than it has in years and for the better. Goldeneye is one of my more memorable FPS, but that was over 10 years ago. Come on people you seriously want to play the same thing over and over and not experience anything new. I've played killzone 2 recently and sure it looked good but there was nothing special about it. I 've played conduit and it was quite unique playing a FPS with the wii mote. I think people should not judge till they give the wii a decent chance. The wii is a lot more fun. So some of these people call themselves "gamers" or "hardcore gamers" when in fact there a disgrace to video games. They give no credit to innovation and wish to play the same game over and over and that find that supposely satisfying. To all the wii bashers out there. If motion controls are so terrible how come your fabulous xbox and Ps3 are making an attempt to copy it. They should worry about making the xbox and ps3 work properly. They have enough problems already. I could go on but i'm done.
1 how is precision not better?
2 pc has lots of fighters you can plug in a gamepad just like you can plug in motion controllers on consoles (or mouse on ps3)
3 gamepad is not perfect shooting , its limited by very poor precision therefore the more precise the average player can be the better their experience will become, and less time on trying to wrap their head around a gimped control interface.
wii shooters dont sell we all know why , sony move will be very successful with shooters just like the pc has been for decades , very similar audiences.
you say that most people dont have problems with the gamepad, but i prefer the mouse and motion controllers when it comes to aiming and so do all pc gamers and wii owners
so who is the real minority here??
