Huh. That's pretty much spot on where I would put myself. It works.

I'd say you should look into the Green party, but with a name like that it's probably purely where you are for different reasons.

I like to take this test occasionally to see how i've shifted.

Even better shows why i'd vote Liberal Democrat over Conservative and Labor... if i was british

Meh, the greens aren't for me. They are really more of a pressure party, one that I don't particularly share common ground with.

I would have had you pinned down as a little further to the left.

Greens lose my vote whilst a woman heads the party. I ain't having no Prime Minister representing me at international conferences breast-feeding mid-speech, and trying to pretend its not an issue. Meanwhile, Obama and Sarkozi exchange awkward looks, and Merkel's wiping a tear because she's statistically not going to have any children.

Sickening.

Most British people have realised that Nick Clegg changes his policies every five minutes to whatever he thinks might be popular and thus have given up on supporting the Lib Dems.

Keep in mind... the "left/right" divide is mostly economics only.

I imagine it's because of four issues.

I feel like even while independent, funding television stations could make them dependent on the government, who could then make them not independent.

If someone just outright refuses to work when they can, i'm not sure the government should take care of them. Of course practically there is no way to single out these people unless you have a "work for welfare" government program, where you work a job for the government say, 3 days a week for your welfare check... (Which may actually help.)

Charity being better then social security... since social security is just taxes taken out of your paycheck to force you to save, where you could of used that money earlier or even invested it better. Social Security in the US works based on how much you made over a 20 year period, so the poorest Americans may not even qualify.

And that I think the rich are being taxed too high. Of course I think everyone is being taxed too high... we should be getting a lot more out of our government then we do right now for what we pay.

I guess im libertarian too. I suspect much of the population is libertarian whilst the authoritarian types are drawn to power.

Tease.

Yes they sure can over campaign. Just look at our last election. It was shoved down our throats about Obama, and the same with McCain!

Everyone needs to play Lost Odyssey! Any opposition to this and I will have to just say, "If it's a fight you want, you got it!"

Which party would be to my preference based upon this? Afterwards I will say my personal view point.

Looks like the Scottish National Party, if you lived in scotland.  One important thing to note is, this doesn't really tell you who you should vote for, mostly because it misses on large consumer psychology measurement.

Importance.

For example, you could think that the rich are taxed too much, but also don't really care about that because your not rich and while taxed to much they still make a decent amount of money.

While that would hold just as much relevence as you thinking that corporations should be punished for lying... and feel VERY strongly about it.

Or vice versa.

A real study based on who you should vote for would likely need a 1-9 Importance scale, and a literature study to see the importance paritcular parties put on particular subjects.

Additionally you have conflicting variables... for example someone may be VERY liberal on healthcare wanting everything covered, but also want to keep taxes low on buisnesses and the rich and pay for it more evenly.

This would put them in the same spot as someone who wants a decent amount of stuff covered and the rich taxed at a decently higher rate.

Oh hey, coincidental... they just posed up new 2010 UK parties.

UKIP being so close to the conservatives has got to be likely to stir some people up.  It's funny how far apart they are from the BNP despite a lot of people calling them exactly the same.

BNP being the most leftwing economically probably doesn't sit well with Scifiboy.

I'd still probably vote Liberal Democrat or SNP if I lived in the UK.

I despise the BNP

I might vote for the Green party, ill do the test (again, lol) and post my results, I always come up near them anyway

Lib Dems I prefer to the main 2 (by some way), but I they are still to right wing for me (economically)
