For me that moment reminded me how much I prefer the first one. That and the return to Shadow Moses part where you go back to PS1 graphics.

Why? Because MGS2 has much of what made MGS1 great and even a better story. MGS1 might be more balanced as a whole but I still prefer MGS2. MGS3, in my opinion, took the series in a bad direction, as good as it was as a game, and that's why it's so far behind the first two. MGS4 had some horrible story solutions. And Portable Ops, well, I haven't played it very far yet due to its terrible camera...

I felt like Portable Ops was trying to put some extra layers onto MGS3 that were absolutely unnecessary and had a pretty confusing story.
