Isn't this a 3rd party acessory developed by Electro Source/Pelican and published by Pelican Accessories. (information ripped off of Gamestop.com's list at this location: http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?cookie%5Ftest=1&product_id=802571)

And why does it hold the censor bar in that crevice?

If it does hold the sensor bar in there then it is a pretty neat idea...keeps the whole thing in one place and it could fit nice on top of anyones VCR etc...which are usually directly below the TV to the sensor bar would be in a good position.

I got this stand about 2 months ago. It's actually pretty awesome. I put 2 nunchucks and my gamecube memory cards in the compartment. It gets a lot of compliments from visitors!
