Read all my posts, I haven't said I bother that, or do I? What I bother about is that I'm buying a US Ratchet & Clank game and expect to get it as the game suppose to be in the "US" version, not "JP" version, or else I would have bought the Japanese version instead. But as I knew that the Japanese version had that silly Ratchet in it... I bought the US version, and get the Japanese Ratchet after all.... with perhaps an entire different story as well. What if I will buy the US Motorstorm for example, which has extra's comparing to the Japanese version and is adapted to a better version and it turns out that they've blocked that all via the Japanese system, only because the Japanese didn't have that, wouldn't you be pissed too? Uncharted US demo for example, has also 2 language options, Japanese and English. I don't know if you people American / European PS3 consoles have this as well, but I doubt it. Its just that the entire system adapts the game according to the Japanese versions, unless the games are English only, at least you still have the English language left.

I have a Japanese PSP, but at least if I buy the US Ratchet & Clank on that handheld, I'm getting to see the "US" version on my screen.

on the plus side, you get special groovitron music. electronic/techno instead of disco music. insomniac played it on their podcast, it sounds really good.

With RFOM, you could uncensor the game on a Japanese console simple by downloading a US save and starting from there. I know that this was fixed in Uncharted, which cant be unlocked no matter what, but I'm not sure about Ratchet.

PS3 games region free unless said dev decides to have region coding.

 You can get it too, just switch the language of your system and you get the japanese version.

SSJ, game is region free, when it comes to be able to play it on the Japanese console, but turns out to be "different" in a Japanese way. So an American game, changing into a Japanese version (though with more than 2 dozen of language options) on the Japanese PS3. Same thing happens with Uncharted.

@Videogirl, no, he won't, he will have the Japanese language but not the game version. That depends on the "system", not on the language which you've put in your system settings. Or else I would have seen the Western Ratchet, since I've put the system in English
