Microsoft>Sony>Nintendo

I think that list is old... I know this article is old, but it's newer than that list.  Plus Nintendo has been printing money since than.  I'll see what else I can find.

the list is the most updated list from forbes, which is from nintendo/sonys/microsofts latest fiscal reports..

the list was formed APRIL 2009

I see the new one you posted.  According to that, Nintendo's Market Value is $41 billion to Sony's $17 billion.

nintendo has more cash reserves than sony.

That is true only if you take the gaming division by itself. Im surprise so much person think Nintendo is bigger than Sony.

no, that is the case for taking nintendo against all of sony. sony may have more invested in actual land (property) and factories. But even that i am not sure would outweigh the cash reserves of nintendo. I'm suprised at how many people do not realise nintedo is a fiscally responsible company that does not sell equiptment at a loss.

um nintendo is not even close to sony in terms of cash reserves, idk where you are getting your info from:

assests (billions):

Nintendo: 17.87

Sony: 124.12

http://www.forbes.com/lists/2009/18/global-09_The-Global-2000_Prof_2.html

Assets do not equal cash.  Sony currently has twice as much debt as cash on hand.

To be fair the word they used was "reserves". I think asets qualify there.

market value has nothing to do with anything.. other than shares, nintendo has more share value, doesn't change the fact sony is a far larger company in profits, assets, revenue and size..

lol I can't believe how big ATT has gotten in the past year...

they wont last long, they were cut into pieces after becoming a monopoly, then again there is competition now

As far as I know

Microsoft > Sony >>>>>>>>>>> Nintendo
In terms of things like number of employees or total revenue

Which is how I would define 'big'

that said, as people have already said, Nintendo's market cap is higher than Sony's (the total cost to buy all shares of the company if everyone sold at market rate). But that's hardly 'bigger' A big lump of mud costs less than a small lump of gold.

Of course, if you want to just compare the gaming divisions, I think in terms of employees its
SCE > Nintendo >> MSEDD
Revenue its
Nintendo >> SCE >> MSEDD

I guess now it is MS from what i keep reading on these posts but you have to remember that Sony is part of the BIG TEN. If you have never heard of that, they are the companies that run the world literally. Disney, GE, AT&T, etc. here is the link http://www.thenation.com/special/bigten.html
So i dont think that Microsoft is bigger, i could be wrong but SONY has their hands in so many things it isnt even funny.

Once you subtract all their liabilities, Sony's net tangible assets is only $18 billion.

It depends on the definition of "big". To me, "big" refers to the number of employees and the total assets. That is why, for me, Sony > Microsoft > Nintendo.

Size: SONY>MICROSOFT>NINTENDO
Market value: Microsoft>Nintendo>Sony
Money$$: Microsoft>Sony>Nintendo

doesn't matter.. all are multi billion dollar companies.
