Gran Turismo 5: Prologue is the best HD racer. Burnout Paradise is better on the PS3. Grid, Pure and Grid not on the list and are better on the PS3. No Motorstorm: Pacific Rift.

Metacritic score do not mean anything. PS3 has the best games in every single category of games over the 360 except for Western RPGs and shooters.

Forza 2/3 and PGR 3/4 are average games.

Damn straight!!!!

You tell em kilzoned!!!!!

N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!!!

Review scores should not be trusted anyway IMO... there have been many games that proved that you shouldn't rely only on scores...

still, metascores are the most reliable indicator of quality

Not anymore for me I have to say... best example: GTA 4 -> Metacritic 98. From my collection it's one of my worst games, but... ok... opinion is opinion...

this is useless

for instance burnout paradise is better on PS3(lead platform was PS3) and somehow it's rated higher on X360 since there not as many reviews.

So it defeats the whole purpose.

Burnout Paradise looks better on PS3, but the Xbox 360 version edges it (!!)

As part of its review on Burnout Paradise, 1UP tries to conclude by indicating which version of the game is between the Xbox 360 and PS3. They remark that the PS3 has a visual edge but the Xbox 360 plays identically and supports an intuitive online interface. And since the PS3 fails to deliver a custom sound track option, the ability for the Xbox 360 version to save you from various Avril Lavigne tracks shouldn't be underestimated.

wow, its better because you can customize your soundtrack?, whatever

Could be the most stupid thread I've ever seen.

This metacritic list sucks really bad....
Alot of really good games are being left out....

Real Time Strategy:

1. Civilization Revolution (PS3)

2. C&C3 Tiberium Wars (360) Halo Wars (360)

3. LOTR BFME 2 (360)

4. Supreme Commander 2 (360)

5. C&C Red Alert 3 (360)

Civ Revolution is not Real Time, it's turn based ! You can still make things right !

Selnor wants you to tell him what you really think of him. He makes threads like this because he knows most people will disagree with him and then he gets another 500 responses in a thread about nothing.

Whilst I definetely think that games reviewers (I wont call them critics, they don't deserve the title) are of far less quality then the critics from other mediums they offer some insight.

Denying the importance of aggregate review systems is fine but are you going to put any solutions forwards in regards to ranking games in this medium via quality beyond your own personal subjectivity?

Because to my mind, whilst the current method isn't amazing its certainly better then a few posts in a forum. Unless of course you're willing to admit that all games quality is subjective and thus no-one can argue what game is better then another effectively?

Aggregate reviewing atleast attempts to connect multiple perspectives together.

On a side note, games that have more reviews and a slightly lower score are probably better in quality since we've seen time and time again the more reviews the lower the average score is in most cases.
