Actually I don't think this makes sense unless we know what things Microsoft is going to show. And i don't mean showing Natal, it's what they will show with it. Because even if they have two events, that doesn't mean they will be great, and it doesn't mean they won't. |
As long as it's something new and looks fun, it's always "Wow" to casual gamers.

Actually It's better to go last unless you are going to suck, if you know you're going to do a bad job you go first, if you don't think what you will do will be remembered you go second, if you know yours is the best you go last. That's just how it goes. When you go to a event, any, if none are very intriguing the last one is the one you will remember the most. Oh, and nothing of what i said is meant in any way, other than the order of presentations. Like if you give a presentation yourself you save your best for last. |
That is why Rock and Metal bands have bands doing their opening acts and not closing acts.
Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

We know only Microsoft would place their event before the actual start of E3.
But for the sake of conversation, lets say Sony strategically planned on going after Microsoft.
Sony then has the opportunity and advantage to react/ retaliate against any Mega Bombs Microsoft throws at them.
Take last year for example, Microsoft announced Natal, so Sony pushed out their motion wand presentation which seemed much less polished, but they said that it would release in the Spring which seemingly put them at an organizational advantage.
Microsoft showed off Metal Gear Rising, So Sony dropped FF XIV.
Its cyclical, however I think there is an E3 event for a reason and pre-empting the whole convention by having a separate event 2 days early seems like somewhat of a Fuck You to the whole system.
Its too bad Microsoft cannot attend E3.
