He's probably talking smack but I think most marketing is crap. Cage is probably stating the obvious in regards to the laser scanning but believe it or not, for guys not as intelligent as yourself and others on here, some people will see what they see with the laser scanning as literal. This is what marketers hope to do - deceive the gullible. Remember, all people that drink Coke have hot bodies and love the beach and surf. At least that is not sci-fi lol.

 

Ask Joe Blow or Jill Blow down the street, assuming they saw the hyperboled presentation - I would hazard to guess many would take it as literal. Regardless of the added in lasers, it's still a stretch to even imply that the object is scanned in with the implied accuracy. Anyway, Cage should know better but again, maybe he is just countering lousy marketing. But hey, he's bias, right.

 

I think he has a point that is relevant to those that are not geeks, nerds, console fanboi's and watchers of Big Bang Theory :). For us? You are right, we are smarter than this.

 

Except that the people who watched it were geeks, nerds etc because it was revealed at E3.

Quantic Dream is a completely independent developer....and it's not like they haven't made a game for Microsoft before. Ninja Theory is the same way. 

They have been very vocal about only making for PS3 this gen. Very vocal. Also I remember reading about Sony looking to own them. Lets not beat the bush. They said no games for 360. And why would any 3rd party company do that, with a bigger user base and more likely sals on the 360 unless there were strong ties with Sony. Dont beat the bush. No QD games on 360 this gen 'shows' Sony ties.

Both QD and Sony have been vocal about there love for each other. Your news article which isn't news at all does nothing to change that. If anything QD's latest comments are sparked by Epic's comments that Heavy Rain would have been better with Natal. But thats something a normal guy would have figured out. But again, QD's point in the OP is completely pointless considering at E3 last year the final product Natal will be was a moving goal post with no official name. LOL.

funny how Cage calls a lie thing that is possible even on current natal camera while ditched the "let's wear virtual clothes" thingy.

how is scanning surfaces and putting them in the game impossible when they did that in Mylo on so advanced level that it made skateboard-scanning part look like last gen?

Lionhead used scanning technology in Mylo were you can see your mirror image in water while still being able to affect the folw of water with your own hands which changes our image. so how hard it can be to make a picture of 2d image and put it in the game especially when it was already used in some 360 games released in the past with vision camera.
