so far so good :) 3 years down only and it's shown some truly amazing games

Software wise PS3 is getting the cream of the crop. Where as Nintendo has managed to take the dregs of the old PS2 crappy games. Personally I think this is a boon for PS3 fans. A lot less crap to wade through.

to me yes, ps2 got owned imo

And also...ps3 is kicking it great with variety so far...the best variety in gaming experience offered by any console this gen imo

If it were as good as the PS2, I would already have one.

on first party side totally destroy it, third party will get there eventually.

Personally I thought that the PS2 and most of the PS2 games, even the highly lauded ones were worth less than the materials used to make them. The PS3 surpassed the PS2 in my eyes by the end of the 2nd year as the games didn't look terrible and I would have had to get myself almost blind drunk before your typical PS3 title played as badly as your typical PS2 title in terms of controls and framerate.

at this point in time, its a no no. PS3 is no where close to the PS2, even though we r seeing a sudden jump in AAA games for the PS3. the PS3 is still green.

Probably i suspect by the end of its life cycle it mayb at par with the PS2 but no higher.

I can't say I got the PS2 in 2006

I had the gamecube for most of last gen

This gen is way better imo
