Personally I thought that the PS2 and most of the PS2 games, even the highly lauded ones were worth less than the materials used to make them. The PS3 surpassed the PS2 in my eyes by the end of the 2nd year as the games didn't look terrible and I would have had to get myself almost blind drunk before your typical PS3 title played as badly as your typical PS2 title in terms of controls and framerate.
