kotr II was by far my most disappointing sequel experience.

Can I ask if the incomplete ending had anything to do with it?

Yes and no. The incomplete nature of the game had a lot todo with it. I had hit several bugs , one of which trapped me in a cave until I used an earlier save, and got annoyedbut the overall lack of fucntionalty of much of the game. I never  finished it, but got about 80% of the way. I just didn't care to fight against the game to play it anymore. I liked most of the new characters less. The locations were a lot more linear and allowed for less planet hopping exporation. The staory was ... unimpressive overall. I have heard that the nihiluswas a pud and the end kinda sucked, but I just couldn't be bothered to make it that far.

and I forgot about X-2 and dragon quarter. Those were also depressing to play.

edit: To clarify, I played it on my roomate's xbox. The bugs were terrible and if there were patches he never downloaded  them.

You should give the PC version a try then. Not that it should change your opinion, because KOTOR II was indeed a mess in terms of bugs and incomplete nature (it was massively rushed by Obsidian to make it in the announced release date), but there's a Restoration Project which has restored the complete ending (both for Jedi and Sith side) and has restored a lot of content, like the HK droid factory planet.

I am aware of the restoration project, but I can't really call a game that needed years of fan work to be a solid game. For the discussion at hand, I feel like I need to judge it on the orginal terms of how I played it - because I had no way of knowing then that years of work could finally create a passable version of that game. The work, as sold to us, was  so inferior t the original.

I am also unsure if my netbook ould run it well.

Yup, and I agree with you that it was indeed a mess when it was released. Hopefully Obsidian and Bioware learned from that lesson, should they ever decide to do a KOTOR 3 >_<

Adventure of Link.

Let me guess, you couldn't beat your own shadow?

LOL not sure why people had trouble with that.  I had much more trouble with the dragon headed (I think...it had a weird head that's all I remember) before it.

Neither of which were difficult.

for me the worst sequel was secret of mana 2. one was perfect the second one i only played half.

Actraiser 2.
I really liked the first one's Populous meets action game hybrid. Neither style was robust enough for a full game, but together they complimented each other well. For the sequel they went with a straight action game that was far less imaginative and had terrible, terrible control.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

Chrono Cross, it's an okay game on it's own but it's an awful sequel to Chrono Trigger.

Ugh, yeah, this too. It was a bad enough sequel, but then they had the nerve to slap Trigger fans in the face with that event? Nah, I'd much rather see Radical Dreamers, the REAL sequel to Chrono Trigger, get a release on something other than the Satellaview...

Far Cry 2. That game was like an April Fools joke.

Damn, forgot about this one.

Trailers can be horribly misleading.

I still liked KoTOR II even though it was unfinished. It had nothing to do with Obsidian. It was purely Lucasarts fault for not pushing the game out the door for a holiday release. The game was in development for 10 months. That's including the planning phases. That's like 6 month's of coding time. Lucasarts should be ashamed. KoTORII was still a good game but it would have been one of the best sequels ever if they let Obsidian finish the damn game.

Super Mario Bros 2 :P
